  • Summary: [Dowloadable Content] This downloadable content pack features 7 new Gears 2 multiplayer maps and a bonus deleted single-player chapter, "Road to Ruin," from the Gears of War 2 campaign. In "Road to Ruin," Marcus and Dom navigate the treacherous Locust highway, choosing stealth or blazing action to survive. For multiplayer fans, the 7 maps include a new War Machine, the much-requested Gears 1 map; Allfathers Garden, a heavy-weapons battle at a COG landmark; Highway, a fight deep in the Locust Hollow; Memorial, a battle at the Tomb of the Unknowns; Nowhere, a firefight in an old motel; Way Station, an unpredictable battlefield with parallel paths; and Sanctuary, a reimagined favorite from Gears for Windows. 1. Dark Corners and its DLC collected All Fronts edition both offer great value for money and is just begging you to give it a download, you wont regret it.
  2. A package all of Gears of War 2 fans will be surely please to download and play. A new single player campaign chapter, 7 new maps and a new take on the classical gameplay make up for an experience surely worth of the price.
  3. Gears of War 2: Dark Corners is nothing more and nothing less than a well-tailored Map Pack, yet it’s absolutely a must-have for all GoW fans. For your 1200 MS points you also get to play part of a previously cut scene from the single player campaign.
  4. We see why "Road to Ruin" was a 'deleted scene," but Gears 2 remains bloody brill. [Oct 2009, p.71]
  5. Dark Corners is the best Gears of War 2 DLC published. It has some great multiplayer maps and also a peek at what was left at the designer's table when developing the main game.
  6. If you've forgotten just how much fun Gears' 2 multiplayer can be, whether co-op campaign, Horde mode or straight-up ranked play takes your fancy, now would be the time to step back into the fray.
  7. Great new maps, but deleted scene too short. [Oct 2009, p.92]

Adds to the success of the Gears of War franchise, but falls short in of itself. Still, a fantastic add-on to a fantastic title. Stand-alone, however, it doesn't make the top 10. I'd rate it the 11th best game add-on of all time. Expand
