Having lots of fun playing. This game is a mix between a music rhythm game (along the lines of Parappa, Beat Elite Agents) and a match 3 puzzler (Zuma). It seems like a weird combination. Initially I thought I the alternating between rhythm play and puzzle play would throw me off the music but it didn't. This game really forces you to play to the rhythm which is great. At first it seems tough and unforgiving but once I got the hang of it I really dug it. Overall I think it is a solid and fun xbla game that doesn't take itself to seriously. New developers Little Boy Games has done an great job for their first game. Expand

  1. If you're into music and/or puzzle games at all, Break Steady is worth a gander for its single-player and versus throwdowns. [June 2008, p.77]

Go! Go! Break Steady is a fun experiment in merging two genres that would seem to have nothing in common. It's like putting a walrus in your peanut butter. And yet, the results aren't half bad.
  3. It's got everything you might want from an XBLA game including extra downloadable content, multiplayer options including co-operative play and the capacity for custom soundtracks. What it doesn't have is mass appeal. Still, somewhere out there is someone who'll give Go! Go! Break Steady the love it so dearly needs.
