  • Summary: Set in the untamed West of the late-1800s, GUN is a free-roaming action-adventure game that takes players to a world without laws where greed, lust and murder are rampant. As Colton White, a vengeful gunslinger, players must straddle the line between good and evil as they showdown against corrupt lawmen, a murderous preacher, renegade army psychopaths, merciless outlaws and unforgiving Native Americans, while waging war on horseback, collecting bounties, and commandeering trains. Players travel through an action-packed landscape of high mountain wilderness, deserts and bustling territorial towns in an epic story of betrayal, greed, and revenge. Multiple gameplay styles include: strategic gunplay and precision shooting, stealth tactics, and use of explosives. Embark on numerous side missions to master gun slinging and horse riding. Players can unlock secret weapons and upgrade skills and abilities to improve their weapon and equipment performance. [Activision] Expand

  1. The graphics, sound, and gameplay all add up to an amazing gaming experience that is fueled by a well crafted story. The missions are varied, the characters are well developed, and the title comes together as *the best* western game ever to be made.
  2. If you love a good western then GUN has all those clich├ęd moments with Indians, stagecoaches, trains, gunfights, jailbreaks, and everything else that has become a staple in western lore.
  3. The gameplay's neither terribly exciting nor really unique in the world of action games, and what uniqueness we get from the setting is about all it really has (other than the core story which happens to be pretty damn good).
  4. Fast paced action, with a fast-paced storyline that ends much too soon. The game feels like an unbalanced mix of realistic combat and shooting gallery mechanics.

Graphics are not top notch, not even close to it. Make no mistake, this game is a port of a PS2 game brought to Xbox 360 and it looks even less impressive than the Xbox version.
  6. On its own merits, it is hard to justify paying $60 to buy Gun. It is a solid game, but when you can have essentially the same experience on Xbox for less money, I do not see the point in buying it for the Xbox 360.

A quick and dirty port of a current generation game is a nasty move on behalf of Activision, especially when the Xbox 360 offers much more compelling software for a similar price.

This is the game that greatly influenced what Red Dead Redemption was going to be. Great western feel. Open sandbox gameplay that also includes an intriguing storyline. Diverse amount of weapons to familiaize ,and upgrade, but not too many to make the weapons seem less unique. Horse riding is fun, and not difficult to master. The side missions are the only thing that's really missing anything at all. They are varied, but towards the end of the game do become a little repetitive. And interacting with the various town residents more could've added more side quests as well. The game has alot to offer, but leaves players wanted the game to be longer because of how seamless the playthrough is from beginning to end.
More content would make this a 10.

Its a really good game. I remember buying it when I was about 6 years old. Fun with a good storyline. That's the way I like it. It doesn't have a huge map though. Expand

GUN is GTA 200 hundred years ago. It was one of the earlier games released for the 360 but it was also available for the ps2 and PC, It was a very fun game with a great story and a great campaign and even after you beat the campaign there were side missions like hunting down animals or helping farmers or taking out some one who has a bounty on their head. Although GUN did not have a multiplayer it was a great game and igive it a 8.5 out of 10 Expand

I bought this a few years after it came out for just $20. It's a great game, other than the dated graphics. It's nonstop fun, thankfully it allows you to switch to first person when you're using your guns. Oh and it lets you scalp people before you kill them, how cool is that? Expand
