Kingdom Under Fire 2 has gotten off to a solid start, and I honestly had a ton of fun playing. Unfortunately, for me, the gender locked classes are a pretty big deal, and having issues with finding groups to do things can be frustrating.
Kingdom Under Fire 2 fulfills what was promised 10 years ago and offers an experience that can be especially satisfying for lovers of the MMO genre. The addition of RTS elements is a success and offers a different kind of gameplay compared to other similar games, and that is surely its greatest strength.
One of those hidden jewels that only for those who have a preference for tough & fair games. this game is made for those the variety in their taste is common. at the beginning is slow. then, it is a rollercoaster of fun.
Kingdom Under Fire II is one of the most internally divisive games I've ever played. Some parts are genuinely fantastic while others are mind-numbingly horrible. The third-person character combat is up there as one of, if not the best I've ever encountered in an MMO. On top of that is a fun and engaging strategy element, one where you can seamlessly move between commanding your troops and yourself, to fighting on the front lines with them. However, the MMO part in-between the fighting and strategy is interminably boring, showing a dated sensibility and more time-wasting than could ever be reasonably expected. I genuinely thought I was going to hate it, going by the start, but I now genuinely, almost begrudgingly, like it and against all odds I will be playing more.
Kingdom Under Fire II is far better than it first seem but still not enough to stand next to giants like Final Fantasy or TESO despite its own strengths.
Its been a while since ive played an mmo I enjoy as much as this one. I wont lie, the story can be forgettable at times and the quests are pretty standard. The thing this game truly does get right is the battles, as you level up the game increases the complexity and size of the battles. Managing your units in the rts view and switching to 3rd peson is seamless, and the variety of available units keeps the replayability of missions high. In short, this is an mmo that doesent need all the bells and whistles that ofther mmos have. It does excel at providing epic real time strategy based combat.
Elves chest and nostalgia couldn't save this game.
Graphism are meh,
Soundtrack is forgettable,
Gameplay was a good idea, melting MMORPG and RTS...
But it's poorly done...
The main plot is boring and there is too many collect and fetch quests (i don't even speak of the "speak to" quests, they are lazy...)
I give it a 5/10 because of elven gorgeous generosity...
