  • Summary: Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal is an action-adventure game featuring seven playable Looney Tunes characters, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tazmanian Devil, Foghorn Leghorn, Marvin the Martian, Gossamer and a special secret character, all rendered in high-definition, next-generation graphics. Engaging in one or two player cooperative gameplay, gamers find themselves immersed in fast-paced combat, puzzle solving challenges and vehicle-based action in rich environments inspired by the popular, outlandish cartoon tales. Players command an arsenal of ACME melee and projectile weapons in outrageous battles and travel to various locations such as Camelot, Ancient Egypt, Mars, the Wild West, the trenches of World War II and more. The Xbox 360 version allows players to fully utilize real-time physics and animation blending and Xbox Live online entertainment network will allow for two player cooperative game play. [Warner Bros. 1. The important things is that the Looney Tunes are back in a game that does the namesake complete justice. [Oct 2007, p.84]

The gameplay boils down to a simplistic mix of platform jumping and enemy bashing, with a good dose of item collection thrown in. It won't tax your reflexes or your brain, which is why the game is perfect for younger gamers; players who grew up with the cartoons, as I did, will also experience a nice feeling of nostalgia as they play.
  3. Moderately challenging and entertaining, Acme Arsenal is nevertheless far from memorable. [Nov 2007, p.99]
  4. A repetitive nature not yet seen in the current generation of gaming.
  5. The biggest problem with Acme Arsenal is that it doesn’t contain an inkling of the depth on display in the classic cartoons its levels attempt to emulate.
  6. Dull, repetitive, and carelessly programmed don't even begin to sum up how crummy this action game based on the Looney Tunes license is.
  7. 10
There's simply nothing redeeming about Acme Arsenal. It's an incredibly poor, woefully unentertaining use of a great license, and an absolute bore to play. It doesn't get nearly enough right to be anywhere close to average, and becomes its own worst enemy with a cavalcade of embarrassing glitches.

The game is difficult to control, and the acme weapons do so little that it may as well just be a melee game. The most annoying thing in the whole game is the camera, which gets constantly stuck behind obstacles and refuses to look where you try to point it, making falling off ledges the most common event in the game. Graphics of the game remind me more of a ps1/ps2 game, and the game mechanics are clunky.
