  • Summary: Ninety-Nine Nights II (N3II) is a high-energy action adventure game featuring epic battles against massive armies in a unique fantasy realm. In a mystical world of miracles and magic, humans co-exist alongside many other races including the elves, goblins, and ogres. But when the "Lord of the Night" suddenly appears, in a mere 3 months the fertile fields of the land are reduced to scorched earth. Before long, Orphea, the sacred land to the north, is besieged by the Army of the Night. Amidst the roar of battle, one man thunderously bursts through the ranks of a legion like a bolt of lightning - he is "Galen," the ultimate warrior. Alone, he storms forward as he lays waste to the dark forces, letting nothing stop him in his path to Orphea Castle. Galen must battle through the hordes of enemies that await him and this onslaught escalates with imposing monstrous creatures that join the fray. Centering on "the inheritance of life," a new battle between light and dark begins! [Konami] Expand

  1. A somewhat exciting and absorbing game mainly thanks to its frenetic action and huge combos. However it's only suited for fans of this genere.
  2. Ninety-Nine Nights II is one of the most difficult games available, but the real challenge is putting up with this mess. Boring missions coupled with tedious combat isn't a recipe for fun. Stay away unless you're a glutton for punishment.
  3. 47
Ninety-Nine Nights 2 is dull, tedious, frustrating, and many other negative words.
  4. Fans of the original Nintey-Nine Nights game will likely be much more forgiving when it comes to the sequel. The core hasn't changed much, and the online play is decent, though the lack of co-op is a disappointment. As for those who have not played the original...well, there is little reason to start now.

This game is worth every penny. It has it's own style (like Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors and so on) and maybe that's why some gamers hate it... but in the end, why would anyone waste time playing a genre he/she hates ? I don't understand why ppl are giving it scores like 20/100 for a game style they hate ? It's actually very well made, it has some rare moments, some memorable ones... and yes, it has some hard ones ! Specially boss fights are really hard. But in the end, wouldn't they suppose to die hard ? :)

For me the sequel is 10 times better than the first one... and i can hardly wait for the third one !

  2. I rented this for five days, and honestly I hope to be done with it today (it's day two). To be fair, I've been re-treading through the Mass Effect series in preparation for the new one coming out, and I picked this up on a whim for simple simple no brains button mashing fun.
This is the type of game you would throw a few quarters into, but not seriously want to own. I would akin this game to gauntlet from back in the 80's. Tons of enemies, you beat them and move forward. The story, much like gauntlet, doesn't matter at all. You have few purposes: beat everything, kill a statue, beat more things, look at busty elves, and beat more stuff.
Dynasty Warriors fans might dig it, but I wouldn't go much past that. We've grown more sophisticated in our gaming over the years. This is a good thing.
Not as god awful as everyone is saying...but certainly not much better, and I'm being positive!
Not too bad for a one day rent, or as the free game you get on a "Rent one get one free." Escapism is fun, but you have to come back to reality eventually. The reality is if you get bored by stage 2, you are in for one long dull ride.

  3. WOW! Not even one-BILLION troops could save this travesty. Poor production values and a generic storyline make this boring hack & slash meaningless. I would suggest Ninja Gaiden 2 or Devil May Cry 4 for REAL action-adventure gameplay. Expand
  4. I liked the first N3, and I am a fan of the Koei games of the same style, but this game was awful. All the things I like about the Koei games, the responsiveness of the controls, the close up feel, the ease of movement, the partially non-linear play, the tactics, all of these things are gone. In its place, the developer put in more enemies. The genre needs innovation and creativity (Bladestorm, for example, took everything good about the basic hack and slash and gave it a positive overhaul.) Adding more enemies but making them useless is, well, useless. They could have put wooden poles up and the poles would have been more interesting to fight. 1/10, and that's being generous. Expand
