So the bottom line is this: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations is the first anime game I've played in a while that doesn't deserve the distinction of "for fans only."

The different approach to the single-player story works well, and though it retreads a lot of familiar ground, it never feels like it's wasting time, maintaining a constant focus on Naruto and Sasuke.

Probably the best manga inspired game around with its fast paced and accessible gameplay, and its gigantic roster. The new Story Mode is a step back compared to Ninja Storm 2, but the smart gameplay changes make this title considerably funnier, especially online.

This is a good Naruto game and absolutely a must have for the fans. There's a lot to explore but it must be said that it's a shame there isn't a tutorial for people who are new to the franchise or haven't ever watched the anime.

The game fails to marvel the player due to the absence of boss battles, exploration and QTEs, becoming a rather repetitive beat'em'up. Fans will however be pleased in finding inside both the anime series, with exclusive content from Studio Pierrot and a lot of characters to fight with.

Even though Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations feels shallow at times and lack difficulty, it is still a very accessible fighting game that offers plenty of entertainment for Naruto fans.

More of an extension to Storm 2 than a true new episode, Generations combines characters from both eras of the anime, the original and the Shippuden one, while retaining most of what Ninja Storm was in terms of gameplay. This last, quite comprehensive episode may still be one of the best adaptations of the anime, it also shows that CyberConnect2 needs to find new wind to save its momentum.

The story mode had some cool cut scenes but it did not follow the anime when it came to details. And the worse part about the story was the repetitiveness of it, when i was beating it I felt like I was forcing myself to. Another thing they messed up on this game, probabaly the biggest, was the online. It just turned into people spamming till the other person runs out of substitutions so now its like a button mashing **** fighter. Expand

Fans of the series will thoroughly enjoy this instalment in the series as a collection of the entire character roster to date, plus many extras. With 72 playable characters, and 15 support, this game boasts the largest roster in any Naruto game. Cyber Connect 2 have showed time and time again that they are dedicated to keeping to the source material and this is portrayed in UNSG as well. This is a day-one purchase for me, and I strongly recommend it to other naruto fans. Though many of my friends who aren't even fans of the show still enjoy these games. Expand

the cons: the community. currently ranked is filled with spammers and jutsu-abusers but i think it'll clear out when people start to play the game more. this and the whole shop system. i think its something that could have been replaced with a more intricate ranking system where you would have your rank/ a level/ and a custom ranked. so that way whenever you play a ranked or player game and unlocked stuff. that way player games wouldn't be a waste.
I really like this game because i like the anime and manga but honestly its a pretty solid game if you can excuse the somewhat basic online and pointless shop system

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is not what some people expected. The story mode sucks because all it is are like arcade style stories with you looking at a static image of a character then fighting. And this is the only way to get the characters you want. When you start you dont get that many characters. Almost half of the characters in the game are characters completely recycled from the last two games. You get a few new ones like all of the kages and Team Minato and a few others. You also get two new modes. Survival and tournament. Both have challenges where you fight a group of characters to get points for instance in tournament you can do a regular tournament or a challenge tournament. Where you go through different ranks like genin and chunin. This game is really fun but in this game theres a substitution bar so if you run out and get hit theres nothing you can do exept watch you get your a** beat. It charges up over time but this does take out a bit of the fun. The fighting also feels different somehow like its faster and more responsive. This game is fun but i dont think it'll feel worth the 60$ you could spend on something else. Expand
