The game is a good 3D fighter but not the best.
It is definitely a must-get for any fans of both the series of Naruto Shippuden or 3D fighters.
Firstly the combat has been improved in some aspects. It's now faster and quicker and somewhat easier to do combos that make you feel like a boss. But these combos are too easy to do. Anyone can do them. That can also be a good thing as the game is

That can also be a good thing as the game is easy to pick up and master.
Unleashing your ultimate jutsus in this game is somewhat lame.
In Ultimate Ninja storm you press a set of buttons to your jutsu making it more interesting.
Here you just watch as your enemy gets pounded which is completely uninteresting.
Secondly in the first game you could fight on walls! You could do more in the first game!
This mechanic although not present in Ninja Storm 2 should be present here.
It would make the gameplay much cooler.

The Story mode is also dumbed down into fights and then small animated cutscenes.
Now dont get me wrong these cutscenes are cool but they are lacking compared to the CGI cutscenes we got in the first 2 games which were freaking cool.
The Story mode is also short and slightly boring and some parts of the story are even re-iterated wrong from the original anime.

Nonetheless this is one of the best 3D fighters i've ever played and is really fun although it is quite repetitive and the online mode isnt the best out there.
Some characters dont need to be there and are just sort of useless remodels of the same character.

But to close this off Naruto Shippuden : Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations may be a let down compared to the previous games but is a Must-get for any fan of the series and for any fan of 3D fighters

Very disappointing, at least for someone who has played the previous game. The game gives you 72 characters ? yeah, but only around 10 of them are actually new. Story mode is a drag to play through, but you have to, if you want all the characters. Survival and offline tournaments are nothing, but a filler to make the game feel less empty. Online is still following the same tactics and OP characters are still present which makes for a very unpleasant time in a tournament where you have to fight the same character 3 times, because of how everyone is using him. Epic boss battles are gone. If you have Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, stay away from this one, unless you are a die hard fan of Naruto that is. Expand

Even though this game combined the best of both Ninja Storm games it added nothing new to the mix. I enjoyed the gameplay, story, and music--but this was nothing new compared to the rest besides the large roster. I look forward to all Naruto games in the future but it is important to ALWAYS add a new element each go around. http://liquidgamer.podbean.com/

This review contains spoilers. This game is not what some people expected. The story mode sucks because all it is are like arcade style stories with you looking at a static image of a character then fighting. And this is the only way to get the characters you want. When you start you dont get that many characters. Almost half of the characters in the game are characters completely recycled from the last two games. You get a few new ones like all of the kages and Team Minato and a few others. You also get two new modes. Survival and tournament. Both have challenges where you fight a group of characters to get points for instance in tournament you can do a regular tournament or a challenge tournament. Where you go through different ranks like genin and chunin. This game is really fun but in this game theres a substitution bar so if you run out and get hit theres nothing you can do exept watch you get your a** beat. It charges up over time but this does take out a bit of the fun. The fighting also feels different somehow like its faster and more responsive. This game is fun but i dont think it'll feel worth the 60$ you could spend on something else. Collapse

Not only a mouth full, but also a spectacular fighting game. The action remains true to the series, characters have lots of different fighting styles and has expansive online options. But why has the open world from previous games been removed and is the story told so poorly?

All in all – Naruto Shippuden Ninja Storm Generations is moving in the right direction – giving fans the chance to use all of the favorite characters and making it accessible to as many people as possible. When making parity though you have to be careful that you aren't watering down all the characters too much which is what ended up happening.

As long as you're one of the franchise's faithful, there's a lot to like here among the plethora of unlockables, an in-depth story mode, and solid online play.
