  • Summary: Naval Assault: The Killing Tide follows a dramatic storyline of subterfuge inspired by the events of WWII where you command a fully armed submarine. Engage in sea warfare against enemy ships, subs and aircrafts, leading a daring US Naval Special Ops team across 30 levels that culminate in a spectacular sea battle. [505 Games] Expand

  1. Forget this Killing Tide (you can, in fact, die by boredom) and look for a more exciting war sim (Battlestation should do the trick).
  2. Naval Assault – The killing tide should have been an arcade game. It would have been a good advice to 505 Games to do so. But they decided to release it as a full-price game. But for this, it is too simple and its gameplay is too stupid.

If Naval Assault had been a downloadable Xbox Live Arcade title, it would have been easy to forgive a lot of its shortcomings. Unfortunately, it's not; it looks like a last-gen game, with some of the worst sound design and music I've seen in a retail release, no mid-mission checkpoints, and most importantly, not much to hold one's interest for more than a few fleeting moments.
