In many ways Red Bull X-Fighters is an exercise in frustration. Many of the elements of a really cool extreme sports game are here, but this title just can't pull it together. If you're a big fan of this genre, or of the real-life X-Fighters racers, it's certainly worth a look. But for others who require more refinement, there are much better options available.

A decent and fun motocross game, that becomes addictive but also falls short in content, as it doesn't have any local or online multiplayer mode. Despite all of this, it is a decent game that motocycling lovers should give a chance.

Even if the controls weren't the work of a lunatic, chaining maneuvers is unnecessarily frustrating. Fail to leave a pregnant pause between tricks, and X-Fighters ignores your input altogether.

It's a shame that Red Bull X-Fighters, which tries very hard to be like Trials HD, simply falls flat on its face. It doesn't do the brand any favors and it certainly doesn't respect the athletes who actually can pull off these amazing stunts.

A roaring fan game for all motocross-lovers – without disturbing advertising, but with cool flair, atmospheric commentaries and a lot of stunts.

Red Bull X-Fighters just doesn't measure up and is therefore destined to disappear without a trace amongst a wealth of other titles.

The formula is a promising one, but unfortunately it hasn't been fully realized here. Instead of being as thrilling an experience as the real thing, X-Fighters World Tour is at best mediocre, and at worst a thoroughly boring, half-assed title.

It's Trials HD, but it's also rubbish. [Dec 2011, p.105]

An uninspired, cheap-looking Trials HD rip-off, plastered with the Red Bull logo. [Issue#78, p.103]

X-Fighters ends up being Trials HD's gangly younger brother whom no one wants to pick for the their team, kicking at the sand in the back corner with its hands in its pockets.

There are better motocross games out there for every format. Buy a Red Bull and play something else instead.

I'm sure the X-Fighters tournament is an impressive affair in real life. It's virtual counterpart, however, is not. The game has some initial appeal, but a complete lack of content, outdated graphics and frustrating controls ruin the experience. This might have worked as a promotional freebie, but it's not something you'd want to pay for.
