  • Summary: With the guitar as your weapon of choice you'll journey through terrifying graveyards and sewers, battle the undead to protect your trailer park home, and even rock in front of the camera as you do battle at the television station. Use the power of rock to unleash a sonic blast on a group of flesh eaters, raise the guitar to the heavens to power a protective shield, or just strum the hard and heavy tunes as you riff your way through the infected masses to the sound of a rocking soundtrack. The fate of the world, as well as rock and roll itself, is in your hands. Expand

The novelty factor wears off quickly, even with a two-player mode.

Rock of the Dead isn't bad; it's just flat. The music isn't good, the visuals aren't good, and the gameplay isn't all that interesting.

Sadly, though its reanimated heart is in the right place, Rock of the Dead ends up a little too much like its undead antagonists: starving for brains.

We hate ripping on something that's such an earnest effort, but the stark reality is that Rock of the Dead was released in the wrong way at the wrong price with nowhere near enough complexity to justify its length.
  5. Even at $40, it's hard to recommend to anyone besides serious thrashmasters. [Nov 2010, p.76]

There's a great idea lurking around in Rock Of The Dead's dumb-fun concept, but instead the game winds up being dumb even when it isn't trying to be.

This game does not in fact rock, but succeeds in doing quite the opposite.

This just might be the game that is as bad as "rock revolution" putting good artist in a bad game is..... yes bad. You can tell this was made with only a couple hundred dollars, the graphics look like they are from a nintendo DS. The flipped keypad is kinda confusing if you have played guitar hero or rockband but doesnt make much a difference. At best this is worth about 15 dollars or less. I dont understand why a company would make a game like this if they knew it had bad graphics and the whole plot was just one big mistake. Expand
