Forget discs and standalone releases. Here's how to repackage old games: with tender loving care.

All in all, if you're a fan of Streets of Rage, there's no denying that this collection is a must buy. The price of ten dollars is a good deal for three beat 'em up games with online play. Not to mention three really fun beat 'em up games. If you've never played the games in this series, you should still give this collection a shot not only to have some violent fun, but to see what it was like during the heyday of Sega.

If video games were movies, the Sega Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage would qualify as a remastered collector's edition. The only thing missing is some sort of digital archive section to highlight the original manuals and packaging. Although the Streets of Rage games can be had in alternate forms, you would be hard-pressed to find a better way to experience these three titles outside of the original cartridges.

Streets of Rage games are the most valuable beat'em'all of all time. No more no less. Having all 3 of them for 10 bucks, packaged in a really good version full of bonuses (online play, challenge mode, achievements, Version selection (euro/US/JAP), a good graphics filter and a jukebox mode) is almost a Dream. The only lack of this collection is the lack of master syster/gamegear versions of the games, but it's not that much annoying. Collapse

I am a sucker for vintage releases on new systems. You get all 3 Streets of Rage. Good value, however, Streets of Rage copies extensively from Final Fight (Final Fight was released in 1989 and Streets of Rage in 1991) and Final Fight does it better in my opinion. If you are on the hill about purchasing this, go ahead and do it if you are a fan of side-scrolling fighting games, otherwise, wait until Xbox Live has it on sale. Expand
