  • Summary: Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper allows you to play as the greatest detective of all in the London of 1888. A series of particularly horrible murders creates a real psychosis throughout the country. Atrociously mutilated prostitutes' bodies are found by the police without them being able to find a serious lead. Sherlock Holmes starts looking for clues in the dark and sinister alleys of Whitechapel in order to follow the macabre trail of the one the press now calls Jack the Ripper. During an adventure full of twists, Sherlock Holmes will try to bring out the true identity and the motives of the one who hides behind this scary alias. [Focus Home Interactive] Expand

In spite of some mediocre voice acting, a bit of wooden animation and a strangely out of character climax, Sherlock Holmes Versus Jack the Ripper is a fascinating re-imagining of the Whitechapel murders.
  2. Sherlock Holmes versus Jack the Ripper is an excellent game for those who like to solve a wide range of different puzzles.
  3. The game is okay for adventure fans but it suffers from bad visuals and clunky controls.
  4. Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper is a game with a good story and some great puzzles, but it lacks some very elementary features.
  5. Morbid investigations of murders compete with bland adventure-game staples in this uneven adventure game.
  6. It's clear that amidst all of the glaring and unforgivable problems of Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper, Frogwares does have a grasp on mystery fiction, however tenuous it may be.
  7. If you want a detective story that's told in an interesting and thoughtful fashion, there's always Phoenix Wright and Sam & Max. The folks on Baker Street just ain't what it used to be.

Offers a classic point and click PC experience on the 360 but fails to add anything new or inventive.

This game is a stain on the Sherlock Holmes name. It's boring, it's wooden, it's just flat out awful. Awful graphics, awful voice acting, and the game is extremely hard. No, not the puzzles, the navigating! It feels like you're in a never-ending labyrinth of cobbled streets. While it may explain the ripper killings well, they should've just made a fictional crime. Don't buy this game! Expand
