  • Summary: Spare Parts tells the story of courageous robots Mar-T and Chip, who find themselves dumped out with the trash on a strange planet. Working together in co-op mode (either local or online), the mechanical duo must find a way to repair an abandoned space ship and escape the planet before evil Lord Krung can dispatch his henchmen to destroy them. Searching the hostile environments for ship parts and currency, Mar-T and Chip will also collect upgradable action parts – such as Rocket Boots - to unlock new abilities that will aid them as they rescue other stranded robots, and battle countless enemies including the relentless Krofax troopers, hostile spider monkeys and even a Super Huge Mega Laser! Spare Parts is a solid platformer if you're playing solo, but it really shines in multiplayer.

While it's lacking in personality, Spare Parts still isn't bad. It's unfortunate that the script work didn't use Simon Pegg as well as it could have, but there is an acceptable platformer underneath.

A lot like LEGO Star Wars without either of the licenses. It's still good fun, and very, very forgiving, meaning that its well-suited for a younger crowd. It's a bit short, but as you continually unlock new abilities, you can go back and explore previosly unreachable parts of levels you've already completed. And the seamless drop-in experience doubles the fun.

Maddeningly obtuse design more often than not makes Spare Parts an exercise in irritation rather than fun.

  1. DISCLAIMER:This is numbered at 8 for children, my kids (5, 6, 7) have been playing this game non-stop, they love the characters and it has tons of replay value. They have been playing it for over 8 hours and their friends love watching them. The only other game they have played this long are the Legos series games. If you do not have a Wii this is one of the best bets for you kids if they have played all of the legos games Expand
