  • Summary: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith" and "Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope." In it, players assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny. Unleash and upgrade the Secret Apprentice's four core Force powers - Force push, grip, repulse and lightning - throughout the course of the game, and combine them for ultra-destructive, never-before-seen combos. The Secret Apprentice doesn't just Force push enemies into walls - he Force pushes enemies through walls. The Secret Apprentice doesn't just Force grip foes to throw them aside - he Force grips them in midair, zapping them with lightning, then dropping them to the ground to explode like a bomb. In addition to new adversaries created just for the game, such as fugitive Jedi and Force-sensitive Felucians, players also confront and associate with familiar faces from the Star Wars films, including Darth Vader. Visit locations such as Episode III's Wookiee homeworld Kashyyyk and the floral Felucia, the junk planet Raxus Prime, plus an Imperial TIE fighter construction facility. Decisions made by players throughout the game determine the path of the story, including multiple endings that will rock Star Wars continuity as they know it. [LucasArts] Expand

  1. The Force Unleashed is simply the best thing to happen to the Star Wars franchise in decades.
  2. For Star Wars fans, there is a lot here to love. The game looks great, controls well, is fun to play, and has a great storyline that you won’t want to miss.
  3. As a Star Wars video game, The Force Unleashed just takes too many missteps to be a masterpiece. But as Star Wars canon, The Force Unleashed does very little wrong.
  4. The audio is fantastic, and the graphics will impress more often than not. The fun combat system and epic story are moderately spoiled by a poor targeting system, bad enemy AI, and some glitches.
  5. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is an entertaining romp through the Star Wars universe; just don't expect something of The Empire Strikes Back brilliance.
  6. 70
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a good game that could have been great.

The concepts are solid, the story is excellent, and the characters sustain. Aesthetically it is a beautiful piece of work. It's just not all that much fun to play, especially when bugs have left parts of the game incomplete.

This game is one of the best star wars games there are.Now maybe not as good as knights of the old republic i still find this a welcome addition to everyone's game collection. It bridges the gap between III and IV with excellent story good graphics and a good beginning to rebellion. also the first level when you play as darth vader is one of the best gaming moments there is......PERIOD. The only thing I didn't like about it was the fact it was so short. Other than that, I loved it. Beautiful graphics, and the physics of the game were simply stunning. Using Force Repulse to fling 10 storm troopers off of a bridge is just so satisfying. Expand

Graphics are great, story is fine and the characters have souls (metaphorically ofcourse). Also using the Force is fun, but you get pretty far with just a few combos. Also the final boss is really hard, compared to other bosses, which you usually kill with one or two tries. Also I liked how the outfits seem to be carefully done and the fun RPG-element, but you had a situation where you needed to decide only once. Expand

Very Good: Story, voices and art. Lots of bonuses and upgrading, mix of Jedi Knight and KOTOR. Change difficulty anytime. Satisfying combat, more dependent on lightsaber than trailers led to believe.. Very Bad: Lock-on entirely dependent on where your character is facing. Camera viewfield too narrow and behaves badly. Uneven checkpoints. Expand

While it's cool to be able to weild a light sabre and use force powers, the gameplay itself is pretty week. Honestly it's like a cheap God of War rip off dressed up in Star Wars outfits. The graphics are almost last gen and the textures are bland. The enemies are stupid and the character models look like something out of Battlefront II. The gameplay seems very linear, only one way to go and one thing to do. Which would be alright if that one way was very interesting. I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed in this game. I know I for one expected more. Expand

Terrible Game. This game destroyed Star Wars as a gaming franchise. Do not buy this game unless you are one of those people who are spoilt and your parents give you money every week and you like to buy games and sell them instantly. if you actually like this game. You need to see a psychologist. Expand
