Controlling Trials is minimalistically easy. It's all about speed and angle. Mastering it, on the other hand, is challenging to a point of madness. With the large amount of content and the smart online features that it has, it could have been released as a full priced title.

It's doubtful whether it's ever been possible to get more entertainment for your money than this, and the 1200 MS points will be well spent no matter what type of gamer you are.

Trials Evolution, with lot more events, multiplayer online and so on, is the perfect successor of Trials HD. A really funny game that no one should miss.

Great value, incredibly addictive and fun no matter what your skill level, Trials Evolution deserves to be another multimillion seller for one of Live Arcade's flagship names. [Issue#84, p.102]

Trials Evolution is one of the most entertaining games you can find in any digital service.

Trials Evolution can be really annoying, but it's impossible that you won't like it.

It's a gamer's game. Little in the way of panache or hand holding and very rewarding to the dedicated. Those who can overcome a few technical issues and a steep mastery curve should reeve their engines and pick this one up from Xbox Live Arcade as soon as possible.

The guys from Red Lynx made a good decision to keep the game's formula intact. You don't change what's been tested and what works. The base of the game is the same as before, but the amount of changes is big enough to make the game feel more than just a money grab. The title says it all - it's a well-prepared evolution.

So finely honed that it should be appreciated by a massive swath of people, from hardcore 2D platforming fans to racing fans to editor junkies to, well, douches who like rap/rock remixes and Ed Hardy tees.

Trials Evolution remains the best Trials experience available today and one of the best values on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The social competition between friends will continue to rage on long after you've made your way through all the tracks and keep you coming back to reclaim the top spot.

From now on, when you search your dictionary for the definition of the word "addiction", Trials Evolution will show up!

Evolution's main strength comes from ambition. It's definitely a fully-fledged, weighty sequel. With a superb array of courses, newly-introduced multiplayer and a limitless track editor, 1200 MSP remains an absolute steal.

The best XBLA game available today. A wonderful accomplishment that you shouldn't overlook.
  14. Apr 25, 2012
Trials Evolution takes what was great in Trials HD, and expands it in every conceivable way; a wonderful, frustrating, exhilarating, engrossing game that everyone with some gaming skills should at least try.
  15. Apr 25, 2012
It relieves its predecessor from the position of being the best skill-based game on this platform with honors. And that is a remarkable trick in and of itself.
  16. Apr 24, 2012
The most important aspect of Trials Evolution is its lasting power. I could play this over and over for a long time without succumbing to boredom. It's all so well-polished and with its continuous updates of playable content, there's no reason not to keep playing.

Trials Evolution is a must-buy for anyone who loved either THD or any motorcycle racer pretty much ever. It's a blast to play, easier to learn now than before, gives you a lot for $15 and is one of the most replayable games on XBLA even with some rough edges. RedLynx could've just phoned it in with a glorified mission pack and it still would be worth buying, but they went far beyond that and really created something special.

With dozens upon dozens of tracks to complete by yourself or with friends both on the couch and online, skill games to break up the traditional track racing and obstacle coursing, and an insanely in-depth, user friendly track creator that should extend the life of the game and the Trials community immensely, the game is a rock solid purchase for the price.

Evolution is a must-buy for fans of Trials and it also serves as a terrific starting point for new players. It can, at times, be maddening beyond belief, but the payoff is so worth it.

Despite a sweeping range of improvements across the board, the core rhythms are just as entertaining in Trials HD as they are here. But it's in the way that Trials Evolution is explained and developed over its hefty course that pushes RedLynx's latest and greatest far above its much-loved ancestry.

We liked Trials HD, and after playing Trials Evolution, we can heartily recommend it to fans of the original. And for those who've never tried Trials before, this is an excellent starting point. Evolution is a wonderful game that's rich with personality (including a surprising sense of humor) and sophisticated gameplay.

Trials Evolution is one of the best Arcade Games this year. Better and bigger than its predecessor, has a simple but addictive gameplay and too much content to unlock. Good choice for a multiplayer matches.
  23. Apr 19, 2012
Trials Evolution is at the same time a great gaming experience from racing, platform and puzzle genres.
  24. Apr 18, 2012
Playing against friends or Xbox Live strangers can be entertaining, but the real fun and challenge of Trials Evolution lies in the single-player experience. Even though you may not be facing off against live opponents, the social element of the game does a remarkable job conveying a sense of competition.
  25. Apr 18, 2012
The quintessential pick-up-and-play party game, especially now that multiplayer has been added. Anyone can "get it" within seconds of grabbing the controller, and the difficulty ramps up much more smoothly than in the original.
  26. Apr 18, 2012
Trials Evolution eclipses the original game, just as a good sequel should. RedLynx really took their time with this one, but it paid off, between some splendid track designs, plenty of replay value, challenging gameplay and one of the best presentation set-ups put into a downloadable game.
  27. Apr 18, 2012
With a new multiplayer mode, a new type of race for up to four players, a better editor and a giant world where to build our very personal track, Trials Evolution is without any doubt one of the most fun games on Xbox Live Arcade to date.
  28. Apr 18, 2012
Definitely a must have for every Xbox owner that improves its predecessor in every possible way. Watch out though, it's higly addictive.
  29. Apr 18, 2012
Trials Evolution is by far the best way to kick off the Arcade Next event. It is a great game with the soundtrack being the online downside.
  30. Apr 17, 2012
Trials has cleverly adapted to its environment and become even more of an everyman's game. It's still incredibly challenging, but the hill to the hardest levels is less steep. The thrills are more thrilling... Rarely have I played a game that better caters to all walks of players.

Just WOW!. although i put down the original Trials HD sometime ago, it didn't put the slightest shadow over my eyes when i heard the TrialsJust WOW!. although i put down the original Trials HD sometime ago, it didn't put the slightest shadow over my eyes when i heard the Trials Evo was on its way. What an improvement (not that much improvement was required). the bottomless possibilities with the level editor and the 3 hours of fun ive already had re-playing level after level. For 1200msp Redlynx have gone above and beyond.

Complete improvement on the original, and the insane amount of options available are still blowing my mind. It looks great for a downloadable title, not as good as heavy hitters like Hydrophobia and I Am Alive but still nice visually. It's also nuts the amount of variety the game has, I'm still waiting for the FPS segment I saw from the trailer. Get this. Full Review »

A evolution on the first game - better graphics, better physics, better stages, and now with a nice level editor. If you liked the first game,A evolution on the first game - better graphics, better physics, better stages, and now with a nice level editor. If you liked the first game, go for it - the gameplay basics is the same, but improved, addictive and fun. And now we have the option to play on the same screen online or in Xbox live, with 2 to 4 players. The only minor downside is the soundtrack musics that sometimes are a little annoying, but nothing that spoil the fun! My score: 9,0 / 10,0. Full Review »
