Aug 12, 201290It's Virtua Fighter 5, only tarted up. [Sept 2012, p.105]
-
Jun 25, 201285The fighting game fan's fighter. There are no frills or a fancy art style to mask lesser gameplay. It's a brawler, pure and simple. However, the more you put into it, the more you practice, the more it gives back, giving it an immensely rewarding quality that can only be found in truly great competitive online games.

Jun 25, 201285With the market now full of unbelievably fantastic fighting games, and it being a revision of a five-year-old title, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown still manages to stand head and shoulders above most of its competition. It may not have the install base of other fighters, but it's still one of the deepest fighting game experiences to date.

Jul 13, 201270For the price, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown is a solid purchase, even if it's not exceptional. It's a bare-bones fighter that has the most basic of extra modes and features, but the main game is good, and the price point is hard to beat. The game is easy to pick up but difficult to master, giving you a great value for only $15. In the end, it's another release of Virtua Fighter 5. If you enjoy the series, you'll love getting a cheap and improved version. The comprehensive tutorial also makes this a great starting point for series newcomers. If you've never liked the series, though, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown won't change your mind.
