  1. Virtua Tennis 2009 is still a great tennis game, and it arrives at the right moment, far enough from the last installment for sports fans to want a little more of Virtua Tennis. The only thing to criticize is the few changes in comparison with the last game.
  2. VT has always been a party game, and it pulls that off well enough to excuse the rough edges. If the more technical Top Spin 3 is posh dinner in polite company, this is a pie and a pint with friends - a little boisterous, maybe, but you don't need etiquette to have a good time.
  3. 75
Virtua Tennis 2009 plays a better, more compelling game than any other tennis game around, but it is still fundamentally more of the same. Nonetheless, if you're in the market for a new set of balls, then this is certainly a game that you'll love.
  4. Virtua Tennis 2009 is, like every other game in the Virtua Tennis-series, a great game. But there are not many news since the last version so if you already got a Virtua Tennis for your current-gen console you can stick with that. But if you haven´t, and love tennis, then this is a must buy.
  5. Despite the fact that all the evidence suggests Virtua Tennis is a series stuck in a rut, Virtua Tennis 2009 is still great fun, especially in multiplayer.
  6. 67
It's a slight advancement over its predecessor, VT 3, but its biggest weaknesses, the online and single-player modes, mire an otherwise satisfying experience.
  7. Simply put: do not buy Virtua Tennis 2009. There is absolutely no reason to buy this over the superior (and cheaper) VT3.

As a party/arcade mess around game then it's a triumph, as a full retail price indepth sequel with loads of extras then it fails As a party/arcade mess around game then it's a triumph, as a full retail price indepth sequel with loads of extras then it fails miserably. Same shite game mechanics where getting in position is more to do with fortunate then skill, same dull lay out, and even worse career mode. This game is almost average, so don't waste your money on Sega's cash in attempt. Expand
