  1. A few hiccups keeps this title from being perfect but SmackDown Vs. Raw 2010 is everything a fan could want in a wrestling game and more.
  2. SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 easily represents the biggest leap forward for the series. While previous entries certainly piled on the match types and character rosters, the new creation aspects of SvR 2010 make it the best and most immersive WWE video game experience to date.
  3. The addition of the Divas, the upgrades to the Royal Rumble, and being able to share all your custom creations with the rest of the gaming world take this from being a really good title to making it a really great title.
  4. Absolutely worth picking up if you're a wrestling fan, and definitely a big step in the right direction for the series.
  5. It’s nothing short of joyous, then, that Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 is so much more than a lazily thrown together update of last year’s game.
  6. With the long-overdue additions of a story-creation mode and an online community, SvR2010 is a massive step forward for the series’ already-rich feature set, while still continuing the steady improvement of its in-ring fundamentals.
  7. There is so much to do in Smackdown vs Raw 2010 that you will be kept busy for a very long time and it is well worth the price of admission.
  8. All we can say is WOW; how ever did Yuke’s and THQ manage to squeeze so much into a title with just under a year of development time? Other developers should definitely take notice; just because there isn’t another top notch game in the same genre, doesn’t mean that you can’t push the envelope.
  9. Those who are in the market for a new WWE game will delight in the raft of innovations, which dispel the myth that Smackdown is a gaming franchise that stood still. [Nov 2009, p.72]

If you were ever looking for a WWE title where you write the story or spam the online services with b-grade knock offs of Cloud Strife, look no further.
  11. Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 is the definitive wrestling title of this generation, so far. This is what WWE fans have wanted for near a decade now, and THQ and Yukes have delivered far beyond the usual yearly updates. A must have for anyone with even a passing interest in the world of WWE.
  12. If the user-generated content goes well it will continue to be a worthwhile purchase months after it comes out - if you're a fan of ridiculous storylines and overblown characters you can't pass up WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010.

It doesn't reinvent the wheel with new gameplay mechanics or revamped graphics, but WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 excels once again as the definitive pro wrestling game on the market. Fans of the series and pro wrestling alike should definitely put it in their queues. [Dec 2009, p.77]
  14. If it were not for some annoying graphical glitches, this game would have received a coveted GCM Editors Choice.
  15. SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 really does stand up to the saying “It’s Your World Now”. The whole package is a dream come true for WWE fans all around the world.
  16. It seems like Yuke’s is finally starting to understand exactly what the WWE gamer wants out of their wrestling game as WWE Smackdown vs. RAW 2010 introduces a number of changes and improvements fans have wanted for years.
  17. THQ has really listened to what fans have wanted and made WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010 the best in the series yet and have really embraced their tag line “ It’s your world now”
  18. The level of detail, the foresight that went into planning the Story Designer and character creator, the Training Facility to catch newbies up to speed without dumbing the game down for franchise vets...the title really has it all.
  19. WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 is the best iteration in the series in years. The franchise manages to be focused not only on hardcore wrestling fans but on a more generic community too.
  20. Once again THQ have done something that we were not expecting and have shaken up the franchise with a variety of twists and turns.

  3. Well being a big follower of the smackdown series all the way back to its ps1 origins. I feel really that the series reached its peak at Smackdown vs Raw and went slowly down hill from 2007 onwards. Alot of the matches feel generally the same and have no real enjoyment factor even when more interactivity with the enviroment and more variation in moves are added on.

The reason i feel the series has gone down hill mostly is down to the fact that the series has taken to the idea of being more family friendly, so they have to get rid of the diva exclusive matches e.g. fulfil your fantasy and the bra and panties matches. The matches may be viewed as sexist or not appropriate for family view but they had more innovation than the last 2 titles put together. Another gripe i have is with the story mode and created wreslters. Can only be used 10 times in an entire story (including cut scenes and matches). The only way to make a long story with a created wrestler would be to divide it into loads of parts. THQ need to address this problem if they want to get me to buy the 2011 edition.

The game still has some good merits about it though. The create your own entrance has been vastly improved. Now not only can you incorporate your own music you can also create an entrance video using match footage. This made incorporating yourself into the game even more brilliant.

It feels more of a challange to win a match now unlike the previous titles where you could time your moves depending on the body movement of your opponent. now its much more unpredictable.

Overall a half decent game but i feel its gone way off its roots and is going to lose alot of its original fanbase if they dont try bring some of the more popular elements.
