  1. Though Xevious was a ground-breaking title when it was released 25 years ago, it’s a great example of how game designers of that era were trying out new things and new ways of challenging players. As such, spending a few Microsoft Points to pick up the XBLA version will give you a good look at what served as a revolutionary game in 1982—and to test your piloting mettle.
  2. Through thick and thin, Xevious has always stood out when compared to other arcade games from its era, and it's nice to have another accurate emulation of this classic out there.
  3. 60
While the online leaderboards give you a similar feeling of giddiness, it just isn't the same. Those days are gone and, like this unimproved and overpriced version of Xevious, best left in the past.
  4. A piece of crap. [Issue#23, p.98]
  5. We loved her when she was young and tasty, but now this old bird's, er, old. [Aug 2007, p.92]
  6. One for hardcore collectors only. [Aug 2007, p.101]
  7. Xevious has been bettered hundreds of times over down the years, and only the most diehard retro fiend will want to part with their cash for this now.
