We’ve waited far too long for an Aliens game this good, but it’s finally here. With an exciting campaign, five exciting classes, a dazzling array of weapons, and a staggering array of monsters to use them on, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a perfect organism.
This game is one of the best co op games I've played in my entire playstaytion history since 2009. And I've played hundreds and hundreds of games. The game makes you stick very close together as a team of 3 players throughout the entire mission. You can see and hear each others clips and bullets flying out as you take on hordes of aliens. Heart pounding and breath taking!
I played through the first set of missions and was a bit disappointed. I left the game for a bit, but I came back with some optimism. The next sets of missions were a good amount of fun, I played with friends the first time all the way through. The game has a unique look at character customization and development. It is fresh and I have so far loved it. Finally, a game that has narration that seems in context, I have been getting sick and tired with all of these games playing off that every character was insane.
Have you listened to the environment sounds and the amazing music? This game does it well, whoever composed the score really sets the mood for the game. It may not be the scary horror that some people have wished for, but it is a fantastic game.
I have since replayed the beginning levels on higher difficulties and have had a blast. The game has great replay ability, and I would recommend it to anyone that likes your typical coop shooter.
Overall I found Aliens Fireteam Elite to be a pleasurable experience with only a few hiccups. The graphics are on point, the audio keeps very well planned to keep with the theme and feel over the series.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite feels like a generic loot shooter that doesn't manage to capture at all the look and feel of the Aliens franchise. Instead, we are left with a boring, repetitive and buggy game.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite is extremely fun to play once through with your friends, but when you’re expected to play the same stages multiple times, the gameplay wains on the player. It becomes more tedious than anything because the stages themselves just aren’t that interesting. Playing higher difficulties provides more challenge to your crew, but it gets repetitive. You’re expected to want to do this for more gun customization, but that’s barely interesting. Regardless, I have to admit, shooting down waves of aliens with friends sure is entertaining.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite does no favors to the franchise's reputation in video games. It's a mostly functional, but very repetitive and bland shooter that may only grab the interest of the most hardcore Xeno enthusiasts.
had a lot of fun to play it with my BROTHA great game yo and great ending, maybe not that much to do in the game after you played all of the stages (only 12)
This is a good beginning and this can only get better for Aliens games franchise . Kudos to the team for creating something thats good after all the attempts previously went sour.
A really bad campaign.10 year old games are better made and more fun.
THE ONLY thing this game has going for it over older games are GRAPHICS, and they are not worth it.Game is extremely buggy. Half the campaign you spend time killing other enemies that are not alien and are quiet boring. like tiny spiders or npc with gun waiting behind a wall until you run to it, ( no aliens during that level)
Quiet a disappointing experience. Feels nothing like a survival game ( Like zombie arena survival type)
Classes in game are bad and guns all feel really cheap.
This Alien franchise game once again follows the usual recipe and repeats the same mistakes:
Step 1: having aliens that actually sneak, hide and ambush you is ruled out as either too technically challenging, too frustrating for players or not following the mainstream recipe and thus too risky.
Step 2: now tons of dumb, weak aliens are beelining towards players making loud screeching noises. Can't keep doing this for 10 maps straight, so the alien zoo comes back: armored aliens, spitting aliens, runner aliens, exploding aliens...
Sprinkle with XP system and unlockable items. Voila, generic coop shooter.
I wish they'd mix **** and Alien: Isolation instead. And rather than invent a dozen alien variations, invent new anti-alien devices that marines need to use. How about a new kind of scanner that is unwieldy but has to be very methodically used to locate hidden aliens in corridors (or undetected aliens will ambush), and having to use this scanner with extra probes in larger rooms to stay away from hidden aliens until a kill zone is closed off and set up because otherwise the odds are terrible...
Basically, anything but another generic coop shooter with the dreaded alien zoo in it. But that's what we got. It may still be fun for players just looking to play another coop shooter with a different theme. And I guess this standard coop shooter recipe sells well, so maybe there's at least the chance for an interesting Alien game to follow in its footsteps.
