The very definition of cheap and cheerful, Sixty Second Shooter Prime matches simplicity with speed to make a shooter you don't mind either losing or switching off after one round. [Sept 2014, p.89]

Sixty Second Shooter Prime is a great throwback to the arcade machines of yesteryear, but it lacks the depth and difficulty needed for an old-school twin-stick shooter to appeal to most modern gamers.

I enjoyed playing Sixty Second Shooter Prime well enough, but the fundamental unfairness of the design keeps it from being a great example of the genre.
  4. Jun 23, 2014
It is positive to note that Sixty Second Shooter Prime is extremely tough (and well-priced), but the lack of goals and a poor level system leave little to be accomplished after the first couple hours of gameplay.

The game’s fun for a while, but quickly loses any sense of direction. As such, it provides little more than a cursory distraction for all but the most obsessive high-score chasers.

A good indy shoot'em up for the Xbox One, even if there's a lack of content.

If you enjoy twin-stick shooters like Geometry Wars, then maybe you can give this a try. It’s definitely a competent game for the genre and will scratch that itch, if you’ve got it.

Since the dissolution of Bizarre Creations, I was afraid I'd never get an updated version of Geometry Wars. This game scratches my Geometry Wars itch with a solid gold back-scratcher.

If you think it sucks, keep playing. The game constantly unlocks things for you.

    Love it.

Sixty Second Shooter Prime is much more fun than you would expect. It is a twin-stick shooter, with a surprising sense of urgency and difficulty. Gameplay revolves around racking up as many points as you can in the sixty seconds. Rise to the highest level you can manage, fire guided missiles, collect power-ups, dodge enemies, chain reactions, you get the picture. Topping leaderboards is as satisfactory as ever. There are a few neat tactics that I find myself using to progress and improve. Visually, the explosions do look cool and bright, and makes the game feel fresh.

This game costs only £3.99 here in the UK! Definite purchase to survive the summer dry spell!

Fun, fun, fun. Classic shooter that's incredibly easy to drop into but so hard to stop playing. Frenetic pace, tons of "oh crap!" moments, and a ramping difficulty make you want to play "just one more time" to beat your high score. Highly recommended at $4.99. Expand

Fun game for great price. If you enjoy Geometry Wars this is a must buy for Xbox One. If there was multiplayer co-op mode i would give this game 9 or 10. Expand
