This is the sort of game that people buy a new console for. It’s just that good. Sunset Overdrive celebrates the things that set us apart as gamers, and it draws strength from those differences. It never loses sight of the fact that fun trumps all in this sort of escapist fantasy.

Insomniac Games have just given a masterclass in taking a tried and tested game genre and making it feel fresh and fun.

Sunset Overdrive is a fun and well crafted free roaming. Insomniac played it a bit too safe and their game isn't able to deliver on all of its excellent promises.

Sunset Overdrive is a very nervous game with colorful graphics, which offers a mix between Jet Set radio and Crackdown. In spite of very repetitive sequences, the length of the game makes it quite a good investment.

Insomniac Games has crafted an excellent game in Sunset Overdrive. It's not without a few niggling issues, but you'll be too busy enjoying yourself to care. You can compare it to games like Crackdown, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and Ratchet and Clank, but by combining the best elements of those games into a single package and injecting it with an anything goes, rock and roll attitude, you'll never think of it as anything but a singular achievement that stands tall on its own merits.

Sunset Overdrive has some excellent ideas, but its triumphs are sadly suffocated beneath ultra-repetitive mission design and unsatisfying enemy encounters.

Don't listen to the negative reviews, odds are they are Sony fan boys who wanna hate because this game isn't on their system. I have playedDon't listen to the negative reviews, odds are they are Sony fan boys who wanna hate because this game isn't on their system. I have played about 11 hours so far and have had a blast! This is truly the first real next gen game to come out, and a fun one at that. The multiplayer could use more modes and be more linear, but the story and main mode that is offered. There is so much to do and see and also collect that this should keep you entertained for weeks and months, I highly recommend this game to anyone that is looking to have fun and blow stuff up. I beat the story, all the side quests, and a lot of the challenges. While the missions are generally the same, they are a blast because the movement system is so fluid. The game is also downright hilarious because of the fantastic voice work. The graphics are AMAZING and the game is one of the few games I would call truly "next gen." Lastly, Chaos Squad is a big surprise because it feels kind of like Mario Party in a very weird way. Overall, Sunset Overdrive is the reason to own an Xbox One and I would even say that it is worth buying an Xbox One. The poor reviews are probably just haters so don't listen to them! Expand

This game will also make you laugh and break the 4th wall more times than you can cough in a day. Don't listen to the bad reviews. Like one of the reviews stated they gave it a zero just for not being on the newest playstation which is NO way to rate a game just because it isn't on your favorite **** console. Just go buy this game and have fun. Expand

A game that's straight fun from start to finish, the characters are constantly breaking the 4th wall which gives the game a comic book feel. I found it was just challenging enough, and was never too frustrating or too straight up easy.

The game-play has a heavy, throwback feel of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, where you trick together grinds and jumps to navigate your way around the city. THPS2 is one of my favorite games ever, and I was skeptical about those comparisons, but they are deserving. It's really the little things that add up in this game, such as the animations when you die.

Graphically the game looks and runs very smooth.

Overall a very good game that I would recommend to any X1 owner.

The combat is boring because the weapons have practically no ammo. And you only get more ammo occasionally which just fills up the already limited ammo the guns can have. So combat is no fun when you never have any ammo to use. And the whole game just consists of one boring fetch quest after the other. and one of them is retreaving a girls pet dog. This game is just absolute crap. Expand
