Cut off behind enemy lines during the 1968 Tet Offensive with no way to contact help, four young, barely trained soldiers realize that their only hope for survival is to head into the heart of darkness. Now, with few rations and dwindling ammunition, you must guide these soldiers across 100 miles of ruthless terrain crawling with unseen enemies. As you drive a wide range of vehicles, shoot era-specific weapons, and avoid enemy booby traps, remember--you're not trying to win any war--you're just trying to make it home alive. Collapse

SCi have done a marvellous job with the high detail, which comes across well in both the audio and visuals. In fact it's so detailed that it feels real.
  2. The Viet Cong are everywhere in this game, and they just keep popping up out of the bushes, just like the war movies and stories I know we’ve all read about the Vietnam War.
  3. The controls are cramped, the AI questionable, and the pacing and gameplay seems more geared toward an action-shooter than a stealthy military sim.
  4. Unfortunately, figuring out how to work the controller is absolutely infuriating, meaning you go into firefights against stealthy Charlie with no knowledge of your environment, opponent, or weapon.
  5. The graphics are average at best, and at worst are no better than some of the later PS1 titles with some very rudimentary texture’s. The levels themselves, right from the off seem to be needing another few months work to give them a much more paced feeling.

The pacing, thanks to a combination of necessary haste and the weakness of your divided squad members, feels more akin to a corridor shooter; there’s a constant sensation of feeling harried and hemmed in. [Oct 2004, p.107]

The looseness of Conflict: Vietnam, from the lack of comfortable and immediate controls to the boring progression of the game, just doesn't cut it. While the idea of squad-driven combat set in the tense, emotionally-charged setting of Vietnam has potential, Conflict: Vietnam falls short in execution.

BRUTAL. no debéis dejarlo pasar... VAMOS, VAMOS, VAMOOOOOS.... le resto un punto porque personalmente me gustan más los shoters subjetivos... y porque estoy esperando esa gran joya llamada men of valor.... saludos desde españa. Expand

I have no idea what the guy below me just said, but I'll say this as clear as I can. This game is every bit as fun as the other Conflict I have no idea what the guy below me just said, but I'll say this as clear as I can. This game is every bit as fun as the other Conflict games and better in some instances. Jungles look very good, but a bit linear. Controls are like the other games, but a bit better and deeper with the orders menu. A huge amount of vehicles to drive and UNLIKE the other games, they feel like they're on the ground not floating. Again graphics are much better than Shellshocks and thisgame should be getting better reviews than it is just like the other Conflict games were reviewed too low by everyone. Multiplayer is as fun as ever. Get this and play it until Men Of Valor hits in 2-3 weeks. Expand

Loved the two previous titles in the Conflict series however this one doesnt cut the mustard. The shaky gameplay & baffling comabt engine Loved the two previous titles in the Conflict series however this one doesnt cut the mustard. The shaky gameplay & baffling comabt engine make this a lottery of a game where no tactical advantage can be reached trudging through badly lit & indescernable graphics. Will play this until the end - but it is a frustrating & jittery outing drenched in medocrity. Expand

But then while being forced to order teammates around, my lacky teammate got stuck in the background debris. Unfortunately, there was no other option but to reset the game and have to start at the beginning. I don't know if I'll ever return to conflict - going through that tutorial again is going to be torture. Expand
