  1. It's only a few steps up from the first Crazy Taxi.
  2. The controls are also spot-on perfect, as one should expect from a Crazy Taxi game. If you are looking for a game that guarantees a good time, then check this game out as soon as possible.
  3. That's not to say it's not enjoyable or that it's a bad game – it is very easy to pick up and play for enjoyment in short spurts – it's just average. If you want the definitive Crazy Taxi game, this is it.
  4. 65
It's strange how a game can have new mini-games and even a big new level and still feel old.
  5. 60
Fans of the series expecting innovation will be disappointed, but newbies will now be able to see what Dreamcast owners have been secretly enjoying for years.
  6. 60
Consider this version a mildly tweaked Crazy Taxi with a new city.
  7. Unfortunately, it's getting old and this Xbox version offers little new. It goes for broke, but ends up breaking the formula with some graphical slowdown that seriously detracts from the craziness.
  8. The problem with High Roller is that, despite the addition of the new course, the game plays almost identically to the original. [Fall 2002, p.116]
  9. And, if like the majority of the gaming community, you jumped on the Crazy Taxi bandwagon a few years back, then you've already seen pretty much everything the game has to offer.
  10. After driving around the three cities, picking up fare after fare and learning your best routes and so on, there's really very little the game can offer you that "Grand Theft Auto 3" and "Vice City" doesn't do far better with its throwaway Taxi missions.
  11. Everyone should have a Crazy Taxi in their collection, and this is the one I recommend most. [August 2002, p.85]
  12. CT3 brings all the best aspects of the first two games together and packages them with a third city that's simply loads of fun to play. [August 2002, p.132]
  13. 82
Yes, the game engine may be creaking with stomach-churning slowdown on the all-new course, but the fun sense of freedom and all-new whacked-out characters still draw me in. If you've never Taxied, buy this on sight.
  14. Aside from the strangely bland textures, the most glaring problems are some awkward technical hiccups like objects popping in, slowdown in busy areas, and polygon clipping... unacceptable on the Xbox. [Sept 2002, p.91]
  15. Despite the lack of multiplayer and user soundtracks (two glaring oversights), the game is highly enjoyable to newcomers as well as veterans to the series.
  16. It doesn't include as many next-generation enhancements as we would like to have seen, but at the end of the day the original game was ahead of its time when it launched on Dreamcast.
  17. Everything from the visuals to the controls and soundtrack were all taken straight from the original games, as the only rewarding thing is the mini-games. Even the new city based on Las Vegas fails to bring it up from the grave.
  18. The gameplay is addictive the sound is upbeat and the graphics are fun and goofy.
  19. 70
If you loved the first two Crazy Taxi's then you will likely enjoy the new one, though feel the new city is a bit boring and go back to the original two. Overall it is fun package worth checking out.
  20. If you're not a huge fan or a newcomer to the series, you may find that Crazy Taxi 3 doesn't have much more to keep you coming back.
  21. The game remains single-player only.
  22. This Sega classic just needs to change its routine. [XGamer]
  23. Its pillars are weakening, especially without the kind of graphical imagery that could have put a temporary balm on its aging structures, and which by the same token could have renewed the Crazy Taxi interest of many veterans, while sparking up that of a slew of new fans.
  24. 80
The graphics look crisp, but the slowdown on parts of Glitter Oasis is a major disappointment.
  25. While the graphics are different from previous Taxi incarnations, the goal of this romp is the same.
  26. If you've rolled down these streets before, be advised that there's virtually nothing new under the desert sun, and that one new area does not a satisfying sequel make.
  27. With such a disappointing new city course, Crazy Taxi 3 is a tough one to recommend if you're tired of the franchise already.
  28. Those looking only to buy this title for the Glitter Oasis course will find the game little more than standard fare.
  29. 83
The city in the Glitter Oasis level quickly morphs into barren roads and cliffs, making an initially fun level barren, bleak, and boring. [August 2002, p.48]
  30. At first it felt as if I were playing the same old thing as before... Then I once again realized how much fun Crazy Taxi can be.
  31. It seems little effort was made to make full use of what the Xbox is good at. In fact, you'll notice jaggies, lots of clipping, mild pop-up in some locations and a lot of slowdown in the Glitter Oasis level.
  32. Making it more difficult is the fact that it felt to me like the Xbox timing was just different enough from the Dreamcast's to make it annoying.
  33. The new-car smell has faded and the series just doesn't move us like it used to. [6 Sept 2002, p.89]
