So while it's a great effort, it's not significantly, startlingly new by any means.
  2. Almost identical to the first Ultramix. This might have been a big disappointment if this entry in the series wasn't still the best value to be found in a DDR game.
  3. Although it doesn't bring any particularly new concepts to the table, DDR Ultramix 2 is a very solid game, offering the great features of its predecessor coupled with a good mix of songs.

While it's fun, this is really just more of the same. [Dec 2004, p.183]

If you're embarrassed to do so, just go to a different game rental outlet and ask them to put it in a plain brown wrapper. Why be content to be a fool, when you can be a dancing fool?
  6. The replayability of Ultramix 2 is immense, with content downloads and Xbox Live player.
  7. Regardless of which system or which game you play, you won't find a more comprehensive or fun dancing game out there.

If you're already on the booty-shakin'-wagon, all the Live options make it worth a spin. [Holiday 2004, p.68]
  9. The Party Mode is a welcome addition and support for up to 16 player tournaments online makes Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 2 arguably the best game of the long running series. It's more of the same, but that's a good thing in our book.
  10. Doesn't offer up a lot to warrant buying it if you already own the original Ultramix, but it's still a blast to play.
  11. Boasting an impressive amount of tunes to dance to, modes to play around with, and online and offline goodies to dig into, it's clearly the choice for dancing fans this holiday season.
  12. Ultramix 2 has great graphics, it has a huge selection of cool tracks, and it has tons of multi-player features both off and online to see who the ultimate dancer truly is!
  13. After some time spent on DDR Ultramix 2, I came to the conclusion that if I was a dance freak, I would keep playing this non-stop.
  14. Graphically, DDR Ultramix 2 is the best looking DDR game yet, with very cool looking menus that help personify the intensity of the title, and dancing backdrops with live captures, crazy psychedelic patterns and shapes interchanging, and nicely created cel-shaded dancers representing you.

Since 1999 and its debut for the PS1, it has gotten better and better, and now---shame shame shame. This game SUCKS beyond any other DDR game Since 1999 and its debut for the PS1, it has gotten better and better, and now---shame shame shame. This game SUCKS beyond any other DDR game I've ever seen. It's even worse than Disney Mix! Shame shame, Konami. Ultramix 3 better be a lot better than this. This was one big fat waste of 40 dollars that could have been spent better. Buy DDRMAX2 instead, or if you give up on DDR, try Ratcht and Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal. Now THAT's worth talkin' about. Full Review »

Unforgivable slowdown and framerates mar what's quite possibly the best collection of music and steps for a DDR game ever.
