  • Summary: Enter the Matrix features awesome gunplay and spectacular martial arts that bend the rules of the Matrix, insane driving and stunts, and the chance to pilot the fastest hovercraft in the fleet. This game isn't just set in the Matrix universe--it's an integral part of the entire Matrix experience, with a story that weaves in and out of The Matrix: Reloaded, the second chapter of the movie trilogy. Enter the Matrix is the story behind the story. Expand

  1. The hacking option is truly a unique and amazing way to add additional interactivity into the game as well discover bonus content.
  2. With well-rendered cinemas, obvious Hollywood-esque narrative direction, and enough signature Matrix fare from beginning to end via tightly implemented bullet time, the game captures ample essence to qualify as a solid translation.
  3. A blast to play - it's great mindless escapist fare - exactly like the movie.
  4. The music, sound effects, cool fight scenes, bullet time and being able to fight an Agent. It's all good. This is the very nature of a license – you love to hate them and hate to love them. They bring as many problems as they do solutions but every once in a while the good stuff outweighs the bad.
  5. The game's story isn't strong enough to stand on its own, and the gameplay simply doesn't save it, making the game worth a look for hard-core fans of The Matrix films, but a buggy disappointment for just about anyone else.
  6. As average a game can get, with plenty of things going wrong for it, as enjoyable as it might be at times.
  7. Fails dramatically... Severe, fundamental flaws permeate the experience, ranging from wince-inducing run-cycle animations to sloppy, unrefined controls. [Aug 2003, p.78]
