Slaughtering things with feral powers is always enjoyable, and the expanded multiplayer options help to keep this game entertaining long after you blaze through the new single-player content.
  2. If you have Instincts for the Xbox and wouldn't mind playing an original Xbox game, save yourself $30 and get Evolution. Both games are great and are worth at least a rental. If you've yet to experience Far Cry, though, it's worth a purchase.
  3. Really, your enjoyment of Evolution will hinge on whether you enjoyed the original game. If so, then this expansion represents another 6 or so hours of shooting fun.
  4. Had Evolution been released as a full price game the short single-player campaign would have been a huge disappointment, but considering that it retails for under £20 and there's an impressive set of online game modes included as well, it's a steal.

The best game I've played in a long while!

Great game! The entire game rocks {with the exception of the first 3 levels] and the story is decent. Not enough new weapons, though, and the new vehicles are kinda pointless. Still, I would give this game a ten, but sadly the AI are still as stupid as ever. They ruin the game. And, oh yeah, there are tons and tons of glitches. It should be noted that ziplines have been added to mapmapker, but they too can be very glitchy. Expand

Jack Carver is back and slaughtering things in the jungle yet again Far Cry Evolution. It wasn't long ago when Far Cry Instincts first appeared on the x-box and blew us all away with amazing graphics, gameplay, and great online play as well. Evolution is basically an upgrade if you will to the multiplayer. Their is a single player campaign which continues Jack's story but all the gameplay aspects of the first one are completely the same which isn't a terrible thing but there really isn't much of anything substantial that is added on to Evolution. The environments are mostly the same and the weapons are exactly the same as well as the cool powers. Jack Carver is still as cool and kick ass as usual and Evolution's story is decent enough and keeps you interested through the six hour campaign. The campaign is good but it has many problems first of which it is too short, also the stealth elements are gone completely, enemies spawn out of thin air, vehicle physics still suck. The games idea of challenging you is randomly throwing a crapload of enemies at you at any given time and you must kill them all to advance. Never the less the campaign is still solid but the mulitplayer is were the real goodness lies. Great choice of game modes and designing multiplayer levels in the map editor is great. To sum it all up Evolution is worth buying if your going to be playing online if not you should only rent. Expand
