The best soccer game on the market as of now. It has everything a soccer gamer could want, and more.

The Franchise mode is extremely satisfying because the long term and short term consequences of your decisions are always going to be on your mind and that only ads to the pressure of winning. FIFA05 is the best version of the series so far.
  3. 70
In summary it's safe to say it's an above-average game and is certainly playable, but remains some way short of the best the genre has to offer.
  4. If you are looking for a "pick up and play game", this might be your thing, but the hardcore soccer gamer will be under whelmed and jumping back to "Winning Eleven" in no time.

The sim and gameplay aspects this year are better than ever. Granted that's the most important thing, but I was expecting a few extra modes, or worthwhile bonuses. It seems to be very barebones. And as usual for this series, they avoid giving you the option of playing a world cup tournament - perhaps so they can sell the world cup version as a different game down the road and milk it. The game doesn't include a custom soundtrack. Personally, I find it's default soundtrack to be horrific. It's a cool idea how they included music from all over the world. Not cool how they decided on crap music from all over the world. Even with all these complaints, I have to admit, this year is a good one for fifa. Expand

I prefered 2004. AI is too hard, which ccompletely steers you away from the game.
