  1. The camera, for instance, is more often than not pointing in entirely the wrong direction. It points in the direction that you were last moving but rotates very slowly.
  2. Fun in the short-term and has ambition, but there's not enough innovation to get excited about, or warrant re-playing what is a lengthy franchise title.
  3. In the end the game gets a slightly better than average review score on gaming merits, but if you love high octane cinema, prefer ‘the getaway’ to ‘vice city’, or just plain want to be a British secret service agent and pull Shannon Elizabeth, then this is for you.

It's perhaps because the title benefits from such a high production spend … that the average design and execution becomes more pronounced. [Mar 2004, p.101]
  5. The move to third-person is bold and different, but in order for it to succeed an effective auto-targeting system is essential; unfortunately, the lock-on provided is patchy at best - and just as likely to target the guy at the back over the guy who is inches away from ramming an Uzi up your rectum. Compounding the problem is the relative uselessness of shooting when not using the lock-on.

With just as many levels where you'll pray for it to be over than where you're actually having fun, the game turns out to be a mixture of styles that don't meld together as solidly as they should, as well as having several frustrating joypad-throwing moments and often demanding extraordinary feats of memory from the player. [Mar 2004, p.114]
