75The counter/reversal/combination system is definitely a heavyweight champion.
-
For the old timers, nostalgia is enough reason to pick this one.
-
72A perfect way to take a walk down memory lane and relive the good old days of professional wrestling.
-
70Acclaim has employed a unique, cartoony style that sets it apart from other games in this genre. It looks fun to play. It is fun to play.
-
The choppy animation and jerky controls, along with the small move list, keeps Legends of Wrestling from hitting the pay window. [July 2002, p.88]
-
The characters are visually and aurally generic (including the crowd), and overall the audio is bad. On the flip side, its pretty easy to pick up and play against a buddy with wrestlers built from the ground up.
-
As good as wrestling gets on the Xbox. [Fall 2002, p.121]
-
It has great ideas but executes it horribly.
-
60Playing this game really reminds me of what it feels like to be on the Autobahn. Youre cruising along at a comfy 120mph, everything is going great and youre taking in sun and then all of a sudden, some a-hole cuts you off and you crash head on into a brick wall...the gameplay is just absolutely horrendous.
-
53While the idea of playing as these wrestling legends is certainly appealing, Legends of Wrestling sadly doesn't follow through with a game that's as good as its concept.
