  • Summary: With the exclusive video game license of the NFL and its players, and currently in its 17th installment, Madden NFL 07 puts you in control the running game like never before. For the first time ever, step up as the lead blocker to create a hole, and then take control of the tailback and smash through, overpower, or slash away from would-be tacklers as you fight for every yard. Innovative rushing controls give you a game-breaking ground attack featuring all-new jukes, cutbacks, and the distinct running styles of your favorite backs. Expand

  1. To say that the Lead Blocking Control completely revolutionizes Madden is the understatement of the year.
  2. So, the big question will be, then – is it worth picking up this year's version if you already have 2006? The answer is a definite yes – the new lead blocking controls and the refined superstar mode add a lot to the Madden experience and, as a minor plus, the game seems to run more smoothly.
  3. It may still be the best gridiron option by default, but Madden 07 is a disappointing step backward on the Xbox. [Oct. 2006, p.77]

Another great addition to the Madden series. EA makes some minor improvements that pay off. The game continues to get better, more realistic, and more fun every year. Expand

This game should be rated 9.9. It' the best current gen Madden. The critics complain that it didn't improve enough to warrant a high score. But, compared to the 2005 edition, the highest scoring Madden, gameplay is more tight and the game is more fun to watch. For instance, QBs are able to throw on the run whereas in 2005, you'd more often get sacked from the "stop to plant feet" glitch. Also, animation upgrades are so well conceived that the motion is as fluid as real life. Sure, 2K5 had nice strings of animation, but the runners seemed robotic and looked like they were running on platform shoes. Not as if anyone needs a reason to buy this game, but if you're like me and are trying to judge if the good reviews for the 360 warrant upgrading to next-gen, I say wait a year - or at least 'til November for the PS3 to decide. EA Sports, listen to your biggest fans and add a halftime and post-game show, and pre-game intros and you'll have ALL Madden critics so happy they'll be washing your feet. Expand

It could have been great, but fatal flaws with passing in general (especially the play action pass), make this game almost unplayable. Still not even close to the ESPN NFL game that EA forced out of the market. Expand
