  1. So Ubi, I'd like to let you know that you've done a great job alienating a once ravenous fan.
  2. Even when they have no competition, Ubisoft completely misses the mark on the monster truck racing genre with this run-of-the-mill and dull game.
  3. Unremarkable but not awful. About as average as it gets.
  4. Let me be honest here. I am currently watching an infomercial for Jack Lalame's juicer, which features his 80+ year old companion demonstrating that you can get juice from an unpeeled cantaloupe wedge. I am also feeling approximately the same level of excitement as when I played 4x4. This is just a boring game.
  5. The racing is bland, the destruction is minimal, the excitement is nonexistent, the presentation is mediocre, and the content is lacking.
  6. This was a game that I really expected more from, but in the end it was nothing more than a monster disappointment.
  7. At no point in your life should you ever play Monster 4X4 World Circuit. Even if there's money on the table, you'll come up a loser.
  8. 42
If there was a better sense of speed, more destructive elements and a deeper control system along with a multitude of other improvements, it might turn into something fun. Sure there's multiplayer, but it's just as boring and confusing as the solo play.
  9. It's sad, because a game that is made exclusively for the Xbox (the system commonly thought to be at the top of the current-gens) shouldn't be outdone by a title released for Gamecube and PS2 over 2 years ago.
  10. As with many simplistic racers, winning comes down to judicious use of power-ups and figuring out where the shortcuts are. [Jun 2006, p.81]
  11. The game is just far too slow paced to provide any exciting moments, and the controls are much too sluggish to be fun.
