  • Summary: Namco celebrates their 50th anniversary by packaging 14 of their best classic arcade games onto one disc. The interface lets you browse a virtual game hall with each game shown in its original arcade cabinet. The games included in this collection are: Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Galaxian, Dig Dug, Pole Position, Pole Position II, Rolling Thunder, Rally X, Bosconian, Dragon Spirit, Sky Kid, Xevious, and Mappy. 1. Although using the analog stick or d-pad doesn't compare to the arcade joysticks of old, I appreciate being able to tweak the number of lives you get for each game. [Oct 2005, p.128]
  2. In the end this game delivers what you would expect, a collection of classic titles from the days of yore. For the decent price of the title it's not a bad little collection.
  3. Although many of the older titles here, like Galaxian, Xevious and Rally X are undoubtedly dated, they're still faithful to the originals, which will surely please the misty-eyed nostalgia freaks among you.
  4. Instead of being a true retro experience to educate modern gamers on gaming's short but sweet history, this compilation feels more like a way to cheat gamers out of $20 by exploiting nostalgia.

I expected more games, but the ones that are here are good quality. The 5 second loading screens are ridiculous considering the games probably 2% of the xboxes power. This package could also use some background info on these classic games. But as it is, I still think this is good value, as long as you don't own any namco museums from the past. It's also a complete rip off if you ever bought a previous namco museum. In that respect, I feel like Namco is milking it. Expand
