  • Summary: Join the resistance and liberate your people from the oppressive Corporation. State of Emergency plunges you into a rioting mob fighting for freedom. Use hand-to-hand combat, weapons, and anything you can find on the street to add to the chaos. 1. While it's not an entirely brilliant game, the multiplayer feature and the sharper graphics make this the essential version to own.
  2. As far as multiplayer enjoyment goes, there are definitely some fun modes and a lot of room for craziness. [May 2003, p.91]
  3. Though the Chaos mode great fun, there really isn't much to enjoy beyond this. The wealth of game modes, secrets and graphical wizardry we saw in "Kung-fu Chaos" is simply lacking in State of Emergency.

People say this game gets repetitive, and I'll give them that. But I still think it's fun to run around shooting people.

In a word...boring. In two words... relentlessly boring. Complete one mission in this game and you've completed them all...because basically it doesn't change much! Ignoring the increadibly glitchy nature of gameplay (people walking through walls, game freezes) the graphics and gameplay don't really offer much. Too it's credit, the game does animate alot of characters on screen at anyone time, and the custom soundtrack feature is always a winner, but the game never really developes much beyond that. A disapointing perchase, but a good rental to have a crack at with a few mates on the multi-player, but other wise don't bother. Expand

This game is OK for the first couple of hours... after that, it really sucks. You have to do almost same thing, again, agian and again...
