  1. A graphically slick martial arts game that’s head-and-bloody-shoulders above the competition for the visible damage you can inflict on opponents.
  2. This is the single best fighting game for your Xbox and definitely makes the top-5 list of best fighters of all time.
  3. 80
A gorgeously slower-paced fighting game with an emphasis on combos and strategy over frantic button mashing... A refreshing change of pace, to be sure.
  4. It’s like playing an extreme hand of poker, complete with kicks to the face and pile drivers. It’s almost turn-based. Matches typically turn into exchanges of combos. If you don’t grasp this fact, you’ll be trounced by the AI.
  5. 60
It's not deep or particularly innovative. However, the detailed graphics, familiar gameplay, and wide variety of characters and game modes make this brawler worth a look.

Playing Tao Feng is a lot like diarrhea; the longer it lasts, the more irritated you get. [May 2003, p.134]
  7. 38
It takes a few stabs at innovating, but alas, it's turned out to be worse than mediocre: it's lousy.

I mean, some of these so-called experts are rating this game like it was Kasumi Ninja for the Atari Jaguar. This is a very good fighting game. No it does not have the complexity of Tekken, nor the depth of Soul Calibur, but it does have fun to offer. I am sick and tired of games being rated on their one-player side of things. DON'T THESE PEOPLE HAVE FRIENDS??? I tell you, since I got the game, my FRIENDS and I have been having a blast with Tao Feng. Ignore the pessimistic critics and buy it. You will enjoy it! Expand

The game play is simply fantastic ... for newbie users, start off with the default difficulty (easy/medium), and pick the character that apeals to you the most and go for it ... Kick up the difficulty when you can. And don't forget to use the wall and poles to surprise and attack. It can be fustrating at times, but when U finally hand the computer its @ss ... it so satisfying. Reminds me of the old school games where you had to earn the win. Expand

The game play is light years beyond frusturating, only to be better described as noobful. Figthing games always have a hard time with re-playablility, and this game is a true testiment to this fact. After a few quick rounds with each character just to see what they look like and what their chi attacks are, I hardly totaled up about 3 hours towards game play for this title. As far as I'm concerned, you can only knock somebody out over and over again so many times. So I guess without a fatality type of move as seen in the Mortal Kombat series, the fights get extremely repetitive and are not worth the effort of sitting on your couch and staring at the disproportionate characters in the game over. Like mentioned earlier, nice try Tobias, it's better than what what my two pre-teen neices and I could throw together, but doesn't even begin to compare to Mortal Kombat. Expand

I've played about 250 xbox games, and would rate this as the worst out of all 250.
