  • Summary: When hard times hit a small mining town, Power doesn't wish for riches; he only wishes that he'd learned to play drums. But his father could never afford to buy him a drum set, so Power has embraced the next best thing: air drumming. More than just a rock'n'roll comedy, Adventures of Power is an epic fable about the American Dream--about making something out of nothing, and trusting in your own heartbeat as a way of changing the world. 1. Forgive the film its "Napoleon Dynamite" overquirk; a loving god is watching all, genuflected to on bedroom-wall posters and seen in the film's final five minutes--and if you're not a Rush fan, this is not your movie

As a spoof of against-all-odds sports movies, "Power" has its moments. But for most of its running time, it buys into the feel-good formula, aiming to blend silliness and social issues into an inspirational tale

The film--despite some successful goofs and a defiantly dorky Phil Collins tribute--can't quite win for trying.
  4. Not even the always reliable talents of McKean and Lynch can help pull this comedy out of its ironic slump.

This was a very funny movie that captured a lot of ground in a creative setting. There was lots to laugh at but the overall meaning of the movie will touch each individual in a different way. There was a universal side that was the icing on the cake for me because this film brought me back to my childhood memories. The message that I got from the movie and the Q&A portion afterwards was, as long as you have a dream and faith all goals are possible. It also refers to what we face today with the layoffs & how big corporate giants try to bully the underdog. But as we see in real life every bully eventually has his day. Ari & Adrian completed each other in the movie & in person @ the Q&A which made me love it even more...this is a must see movie. It will have you in tears from laughter & tears for the accomplishments made in the movie & for the movie. Good luck to the cast & crew! This movie was made independently, so the more support you show the more Advertures Power will have!!!! Expand
