RafaelR.Jan 31, 20079It is an excellent movie with beautiful cinematography and editing. The story is an interesting spin on the Brazilian favela/prison genre, with a storyline intertwined between idealistic politica vs. the reality of social unequality.

Now the slavery joint blacks, white, indians and all the poor people who live in favela (guetto), while the rich people, bad politics and police make money with blood and sorrow from childrens and oldies.

50Unfortunately, Murat's decision to jump back and forth in time makes the film hard to follow for even the most committed viewer.

70Despite being edited in a style that jarringly blurs the past and the present by switching from one to the other without preparation, Almost Brothers is strong stuff.
