    Redux is both a reminder of American cinema's last glory days and a rebuke to the timid present. Maybe Apocalypse Now wasn't the best movie of 1979, but Redux is surely the film to beat for 2001.

    Excruciatingly bad...Probably if Redux hadn't been acclaimed as a newly minted masterpiece, I wouldn't have felt so compelled to blow raspberries.

    The original was a classic. Flawed, but still a classic. This new version adds 49 minutes that's virtually worthless, not to mention The original was a classic. Flawed, but still a classic. This new version adds 49 minutes that's virtually worthless, not to mention tedious - a French plantation sequence seems to go on forever while adding little to the picture. Rent it and watch it ONCE, but don't count on loving this version more than the original. Expand
