Slight and predictable, with the somewhat tired "salsa dancing=passion" framing device. But it's helped along by an extremely appealing group of talented actors who mine the script for all it's worth. Ultimately uplifting and an excellent date movie.

Loved every minute of it. Hilarious, yet touching, too. And that Adrian Lester is absolutely dreamy!! The whole movie was a delightful surprise.

A great movie to get just to feel great about love and how hard it is to achieve it.

  1. In its own modest, genial terms, the picture succeeds: it never wants to be more than charming and sweet, and it invites us to imagine London as a cozy, happy small town where coincidental encounters are everyday occurrences.

Born Romantic feels less like it was born than assembled, in a kooky Britcom factory. It's no "Four Weddings and a Funeral," but it's certainly a happier conception than last month's "Maybe Baby."
  3. Although Born Romantic is sweetly intentioned and staunchly on the side of love, it meanders long to enough to alienate whatever affection it otherwise earns.
