  1. In Date Movie, the hormones, anxiety, and princess jealousy that fuel the majority of Hollywood love stories are made so excessive that the romance itself is revealed to be...every bit as big a crock as it usually is.
  2. Date Movie, alas, is here to remind us that slapstick can be just plain bad. These are sight gags best appreciated with a blindfold.

This anemic genre parody from two of the six writers of "Scary Movie" strives for the goofball precision of the brothers Zucker and, long before it reaches the end of its 70-odd minutes, gives you newfound respect for the comic genius of the brothers Wayans (two of the other writers of "Scary Movie").

Arguably the lamest of all the free-wheeling genre parodies that have taken flight since "Airplane!," Date Movie is stupefyingly unfunny in its attempts to mock romantic comedies, celebrities, reality TV shows and anything else that pops into the heads of its creators.

It's kind of amazing that a joke-a-second comedy like Date Movie doesn't contain a single laugh.
  6. Date Movie is a good date movie in one sense: If you're still speaking to the person who brought you to see this, you just might have a future together.
  7. "Comedy is hard," said Steve Martin. For the writers of Date Movie, it's apparently impossible.

Pretty good, an entertaining popcorn flick, but not as good as the Godfather.

I went to see it purely based on the fact that I had two free movie passes that were going to expire the next day. Well, I should have just let them expire. Normally, I can find something funny in just about any movie, but when a comedy (allegedly...) makes me bored to tears... Well, you get the idea. It is perhaps the worst movie made in the new millenium, with absolutely no redeeming features or anything. Expand

I work for a movie theatre and just screened this movie before it opens tomorrow. I knew it was going to be really dumb comedy, but I thought it would atleast be a little funny. There is so much to parody in romantic comedies, but this is just abunch of scenes or even smaller tidbits of memorable movies that are collected and thrown together very poorly. Or worse, exaggerated for the sake of "comedy" to the point that they are just gross and stupid. If I wasn't on the clock, I would have been really mad at myself for staying up that late to watch such a stupid movie. Expand

Easily the worst movie of 2006, and probably the worst this decade. Not funny, entertaining, or even amusing. Just awful!

Worthless, tasteless and unfunny. I doubt the critics were right. This is not a comedy movie. This is SNUFF. Avoid at all cost.
