• Starring: Charlotte Frogner, Jenny Skavlan, Jeppe Laursen
  • Summary: The group of friends had all they would need for a successful Easter vacation; cabin, skis, snowmobile, toboggan, copious amounts of beer and a fertile mix of the sexes. Certainly, none of them had anticipated not returning home alive! However, the Nazi-zombie battalion haunting the mountains surrounding the aptly named Oksfjord had other plans. (IFC Films) Expand

  1. May have a dull title, but it's lively, idiotic fun, at least until it goes too far past "too far" into the realm of "far too far."
  2. 75
Wirkola keeps the narrative taut, wasting not a frame; and he throws in funny moments.
  3. This Norwegian zombie flick is perfect for those who just want a few good jolts and whole lot of gore.

This movie was awesome, a real cult and revival of the old school zombie movies, and also gorelike movies overallz. Nazi zombies reminds me of a classic film entitled Surf Nazis Must Die. Expand

  2. Zombie films are always hit and miss with it seeming remarkably tricky to thread the needle. Overall Dead Snow provides a fresh perspective over the remarkably played out genre, injecting a sense of comedy as well as cheese while also embracing previously set up conventions and subverting them to provide more than a few surprises. However instead of using these conventions to create a original thought, they use the understanding to merely stretch out the tension. Some scares you know are coming but they are just held a little longer than in Hollywood films making it seem like you are watching something new but it is really just recycled. However the main problem I had with Dead Snow is its lack of identity. The film doesn't know what it really wants to do so for an hour and a half you follow a group of characters with no clear direction. Even at the beginning when they are only on holiday it seems aimless with the opening segment being so unconnected to the rest of the film its hard to tell whether it is an important part of the story. Sadly it fails to live up to what could have been a great little indie horror film but still manages to entertain in a brainless kind of way. Expand

  3. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It is pure garbage, the acting is terrible and the zombies are just stupid and far-fetched, zombies don't use weapons or climb tree's, they're not suppose to run. are they. the plans that the characters come up with are crap. they often run around like idiots playing tag, half the time they're hiding instead of fighting. this is defiantly a movie you should avoid.
