|Miramax Films | Release Date: December 10, 1999||CRITIC SCORE DISTRIBUTION|
See this movie for Douglas and Bacall, ignore the dialogue and just bask in their star chemistry, still strong after all these years.
Thanks to (Douglas), Diamonds is quite affecting -- even if it's not a particularly good movie.
Kirk Douglas' performance...is so strong and inspiring it's a shame there isn't a better movie around it.
Isn't much of a movie, but it's worth a look just to see screen legend Kirk Douglas, Michael's eighty-three-year-old father, kick ass.
This road-trip piffle is basically a male version of a chick-bonding flick.
Mingles bathos and pathos in unequal measures and instead of getting laughs, looks laughable.
A treacly, ham-fisted, German-American co-production about family ties that should only have been released in the circle of Hell reserved for movie critics.
