DeGeneres goes much further, though, maintaining a delicate balance between Dory’s optimistic personality and the hovering anxieties created by her imperfect memory.

If there has ever been a better voice performance in an animated film than Ellen DeGeneres’ in Pixar’s wonderful sequel Finding Dory, I sure can’t think of it. Her tour de force even surpasses Robin Williams in “Aladdin.”

Say what you will, but Pixar understands innately that making their audience feel something deeply is the greatest magic trick in movies, and all of their work as technicians and artists are always focused on making that happen. Finding Dory may be familiar magic, but there’s magic in it all the same.

It’s not Toy Story or Inside Out or even Nemo. What it is is a perfectly enjoyable family film that’s comforting, familiar, and a bit slight, like one of those serviceable Lion King spin-offs that Disney used to ship straight to DVD back in the ‘90s.

Finding Dory can be described in exactly the same way as its title character: good-natured, funny, optimistic, darting from place to place, ranging from anxious to frenzied in tone, and unable to sustain an idea for more than a few moments.

The animated story finds true buoyancy in its social value rather than its creative frontiers. Has the movie reinvented the animation game or Pixar’s standing within it? Far from it, but Finding Dory is a well-told promise that individuality and self acceptance always win.

While rambunctious and passably humorous, this offspring isn't nearly as imaginative and nimble-minded as the forerunner that spawned it.

Finding Dory is another example that there is more ideas in a franchise if the people making it has effort and passion to do it.Finding Dory might have some identical story and a some emotional scenes that didn't intrigue audiences but overall the film is near to the "one of the best animated films" very very very, very far from the worst .

The story follows dory as she struggles to find her mom and dad. We come across many familiar characters such as nemo and marlin the clown fish. This movie is very fast paced and the voice acting is brilliant. Dory manages to make us feel for her while still retaining her sense of humor that makes us love her. It also serves as a great nostalgia trip for those such as myself who grew up around the time the first film hit theaters. The animation was as colorful, crisp, and beautiful as ever, but this time around this ended up feeling like the highpoint of the film rather than the story. I think it's also worth mentioning that even the post-credit scene felt so ridiculously last-minute and silly. Overall, simply put it's a fun and enjoyable return to the colorful sea and characters we all remember from the first film, but don't go in expecting much emphasis on an emotional story like most standard Pixar fare. The story itself wasn't significant enough for it to be superb, and this is surprisingly something coming from the near-flawless company Pixar. Many of the jokes and gags were well-executed, but the main plot and character development were the downers. It's not the high quality of Toy Story 2, nor is it the low quality of Cars 2. It's more the quality of... Brave. Frankly, I never thought Finding Nemo really needed a sequel. It was fine the way it was. Expand

It was just a ridiculous "adventure" (if you could call it that), and it seemed to go on and on.

My nap was the best part of the movie. While I was awake, I had to suffer though the annoying voice of Ellen DeGeneres. The Dory character was okay in the first movie as a secondary character, but they should have never made a movie around this obnoxious character.

The only good think I can say is that my 6 year old thought it was okay.
