• Starring: Agnes Bruckner, Bill Paxton, Orlando Bloom, Zoe Saldana
  • Summary: Written and directed by native Caymanian Frank E. Flowers, and filmed entirely in the 100-square mile West Indies paradise, Haven is an edgy, suspenseful, viscerally gripping ensemble film in which unconnected lives intersect and ignite a violent chain of events that turns tranquility into chaos. In an instant, greed collides with innocence and passion goes up against those who forbid it, and all at once an idyllic tropical refuge becomes anything but safe. (Yari Film Group Releasing) Expand

Those expecting an exhilarating, "Pulp Fiction"-style wrap-up will also be disappointed. Instead, Flowers gives us the impression - as the end of "Traffic" did - that we've just taken a few turns on a merry-go-round of doom that is going to keep spinning long after the movie ends.

Haven is far from perfect, with some uncomfortable pacing, wayward accents and less-than-satisfying denouements. But it's a refreshing, character-driven antidote to the late-summer movie-house blahs, and Flowers looks like a talent worth watching.
  3. The film is a fancy-pants muddle in terms of technique. And if Bloom doesn't do something about his smirky tendency to troll for audience approval, his career may be severely limited.

I loved it. It was different from the simplitic neat predictable plots. It was was far from perfect but perfect is boring. I loved to the ending. I love movies that highlight the everyday drama of life. Expand

No idea why this movie is getting such harsh reviews. I couldn't find much to complain about. I thought it was really well done in terms of acting, writing, filming and editing. I really enjoyed it and reccomend that you ignore the critics on this one and check it out. Expand

A new low for Orlando Bloom. Bad writing and stupid subplots lead this movie into the pits. Could have been much, much better despite it every-once-in a while joke attitude. 20% still means F folks, don't waste your time tying to enjoy this garbage like I did. Expand
