Hawking cannot speak and must use an electronic speaking voice to convey his thoughts, but his good humor and passion comes through the robotic voice. The film is a little too brief yet informative and touches on the important points of his life and career. There is no self-pity, just an enthusiasm for life and all its mysteries.
    Verdict: Must see.

Mr. Hawking — no shy and retiring genius, he — has star quality that he lets shine, whatever the limitations of its packaging.

Finnigan wisely seizes on the gentle strength and charisma of Hawking's first wife, Jane Wilde. She imprints on the film as fully as her former husband.
