What is remarkable is how realistic the story is.

In the Company of Men is anything but entertaining. It's virtually impossible to sit through this film without suffering bouts of intense discomfort, and therein lies its power.
  3. 80
A provocative, timely script full of gasp-inducing lines and scenes.
  4. 60
This is a film worth seeing, and LaBute is a filmmaker well worth watching.

For all of the talk about its examination of sexual politics and male cruelty, In the Comany of Men is really a study of the malice of people; men and women alike. Eckhart's ruthless white collar misanthrope may be without remorse and go unpunished, but what's most unsettling about this movie is how even the victims of his manipulation are not completely without fault either. This is truly a nasty film that looks into the depths of the human soul and finds nothing worth rooting for. Expand

An excellent storyline with a sophmoric script and poor execution by the director. Poorly cast as well, younger protagonists would have been more believable. Not recommeded. Expand
