Bloody and irredeemably misanthropic, Canadian funeral farce Just Buried nonetheless has enough charm to make for a sporadically enjoyable if wildly uneven entry in the growing body of cheeky corpse comedies initiated by Hitchcock's "The Trouble With Harry."

The movie serves up gory killings and kinky peripheral shenanigans without any satirical thrust, blunting its death-equals-profit subtext with a snickering tone better suited to an afternoon of Clue.

This movie isn't complex or too in-depth (though there are a few nice twists), but that doesn't mean it isn't entertaining. A Heathers-esque comedy for the new generation. Quirky and dark with likable, well constructed characters. Good acting and casting. Great forA Heathers-esque comedy for the new generation.
