Do not believe anyone who says this movie is good...they are taking bribes.

A unappreciated film with great music, great narrative, and a very intelligent script.

A little for the masses to understand. But if looked at compared to the other "movies" out right now. It's quite refreshing.

Not nearly as bad as many are saying, this movie is intriguing, challenging, funny, weird in a good way, and unlike most films where you know what's going to happen before you even buy your popcorn. Lots of great lines, music and performances.

Like a rare poison dart frog, I can appreciate the miracle of its evolution without wanting to pick it up and kiss it.

This movie was as mystical as it was cryptic. A host of shining stars light up the screen through captivating dialogue. Features amazing musical performances.

Ugh. Fun to see two northern Minnesota kids(Dylan and Jessica Lange) perform together but, other than that, it is a major disappointment given the strong cast.

A movie not for the immature mind. This movie is filled with hidden messages and everything in it is symbolic. From the many actors whose appearances range from 2 - 3 minutes to the rolling thunder heard throughout the movie that leads to the end. If you find this movie to be a mess then your mind is not capable of processing such intelligent filmmaking.

Like most of Dylan's art, M&A is a lot to digest. A swirling concoction of images, history, ideals, humor, and eccentricities. It was confoundingly just out of reach, but fun to watch. Bob has never looked more iconic or sounded better. The film soars when he and his band performs. I'm not always sure what the guy is trying to tell us but I never get tired of listening.

Destined to be a cult classic. One of the finest films in years.

"Masked and Anonymous" might've been a modest success, and not merely a curiousity, if more time was spent on Jack Fate's journey to the benefit concert. Dylan arrives at his destination and we get a mind-numbing amount of repetitive scenes(concert promoter quarrels, obnoxious journalism, and band rehearsal) that feel like outtakes. He gets there and then the film goes nowhere. "Masked and Anonymous" might've been a modest success, and not merely a curiousity, if more time was spent on Jack Fate's journey to the benefit concert. When Bob is literally blowin' in the wind, we'll all reassess this goofy movie as a misunderstood gem. Expand

It's only when the film attempts to express its ideas in spoken English that logic dissolves into a muddle that would test the most rabid Dylanologist.
  2. The film strains for some kind of meaning, but asks you to do the work it can't and won't perform on its own.
  3. An unholy, incoherent mess.
