(Spanish comment ;) Visualmente es una obra de arte sencillamente fantástica, cada escena es una conjunción de modelos, escenarios y efectos de luces fantásticos que generan una atmósfera especial para una historia sencilla pero interesante. Imperdible!

Visually stunning. Great story, too. If you can't think, or don't get very strong imagery, you won't like this movie. Definitely for those who understand literature, art, and themselves.

If you liked films like, The Dark Crystal, charlie and the chocolate factory, rocky horror picture show,Final fantasy, monty python, dark city, brazil, the grinch and edward scissor hands, then chances are you will like this film. you need to be an intelegent person with imagination to see what this story is about, or for you simple people out there its a bizzare Alice in Wonderland.

The brilliant visual imagination that created Mirrormask makes up for the somewhat garbled plot.

Absolutely brilliant in every way! I am lucky enought to work at a small arthouse that exhibited this film, so I saw it, or rather, experienced it, 8 times. Each time was wonderful. Each time I caught something I missed in a previous screening. Do not miss this film! Ask your local arthouse to book it. Beg them to book it. Promise them you'll bring 10 other people to see it. This is the way CGI ought to be used. Wow! Expand

Visually pretty much what one would expect from McKean. He doesn't quite manage the move from 2D into 3D design; the cinematography is necessarily boring and stage-like as a result. Unfortunately he has no idea how to direct and the pacing is excruciatingly bad.

Amazing. From the story to the beautiful art direction, Mirrormask shines. Very, very brightly.

Extremely creative movie, able to be enjoyed as a simple story or as an allegory with whatever meaning you prefer. Truly a great movie, of which I know many people who should see it. Good themes running through it, as well.

One of the best fantasy movies of all time. In the tradition of fantasy stories like Alice in Wonderland, The Neverending Story, Labyrinth and The Wizard of Oz, we are taken to a world of wonder that hinges upon a young person's imagination, in this case the character of Helena. This is not a movie for low-attention-span action/adventure/romance fans; this is a movie for dreamers. Mirrormask has more in common with Fringe Theatre than with typical motion picture storytelling, and most critics seem incapable of grasping this concept. Anyone who harbors a wonder-eyed child within them, who truly appreciates the genre of fantasy, will love this movie. One of those rare films that can be watched again and again, because the themes are so fundamental and the execution so stunning, Mirrormask is destined for a long life of home video sales as a cult classic. A vastly underrated wonderland. Brilliant cinematography and breathtakingly gorgeous art set in a traditionally based children's tale. Well worth your time.

Don't be fooled - this is a solid and heartfelt work of wonder, and the best I've seen this year.

While I was searching for a movie that would keep my interest just like the other ones in a library, I stumble upon this one known as MirrorMask. At first, I thought it was gonna be strange and awkward... Boy was I wrong. It caught my very interest and I think I'll write the plot in which we already know about. It tells about a 15 year old girl named Helena who works at a circus with her family and wishes to live in a real life. Suddenly, she finds herself transported into the Dark Lands with Giants, Monkeybirds and Sphinxes and must find the MirrorMask to save the kingdom and return home. When I watched it twice, everything that this movie throws totally blew me away. The premise about a young girl who gets transported to a magical fantasy land and is sent on a mission to find the MirrorMask to save the princess and get back to her own world was very interesting. The acting was magnificent, The visuals were creative and astounding, the scary moments were satisfying, and the CGI effects were solid and very unique. There are two problems with this movie however. 1. The fast pacing and 2. The tiresome minute length MirrorMask is a very good fantasy movie from famous author Neil Gaiman and it has a darker tone to go along with it. Thumbs Up. 8.8 out of 10 Expand

Though the story meanders, the film's look is nothing short of breathtaking.
  2. Like many dreams, you won't remember it when you wake up. The style obliterates any emotional attachment.

If you're not already smitten with all things Gaiman, you may well find yourself, like Helena, a stranger in a strange land.
